I completely forgot I uploaded VistaPro 3.20 (the scenery renderer) to the Internet Archive, where you can run it from your browser. For those sudden urges of wanting to create some landscapes.

https://archive.org/details/vistapro320

Includes the MakePath tool.

Don't forget to take screenshots of your creations! Nothing can be retrieved from the disk the in-browser DOSBox keeps, as far as I know.

(Please be patient with the Archive's speed, they're dealing with persistent DDoS attacks at the moment)

@loadhigh This was great for creating models for demos!

This is a bit of a stretch, but does anybody have experience implementing frustum polygon clipping, in software, in a very resource-constrained environment? I've some questions I'd love to ask.

My current approach seems to be unviable, it's taking up more of my frame time than rasterisation!

This demo from 2016 is less than 4 kilobytes (❗), and made my jaw drop… 😮

I've just watched the demo HAMazing by Desire and I want to say a few words about it. The first ones are: it's insane what hardware that's almost 40 years old could do. It blew my mind as a kid and rightly so.

The demo is all about leveraging HAM mode, which allowed you to display up to 4K colors simultaneously. Let me explain how that worked and how remarkable this demo is. 🧵 1/6

Calculating only some pixels both spatially and temporally is pretty much the same as DLSS, right? :P

ByteJammin' with @FieldFX again.
I didn't know where to go, so I started doing some 3D and a DNA strand.
Made some decent use of FFT, and kept the palette (for me) restrained.

A red/blue DNA strand dances in front of a spectrum analyser.

At the gathering, Thomas Jansson (Tubesockor) and I did a little presentation about SidFactory 2 with support for hardware based synths like the . By interfacing SID synths with SF2 and the excellent web player, you can play, edit and live remix SID music on real SID chips using your own laptop.
