Today is the anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
It is not over. Chernobyl spread radioactive particles across Europe and beyond. The fire in reactor #4 burned for over a month, releasing massive amounts of radionuclides which then would fallout and embed into the #ecosystem.
37 years later we still find food contaminated with Chernobyl fallout every year. Often with cesium-137 which is very adept at transporting in an ecosystem once the particle has deposited from the fallout cloud.
Ugh. Fallout 76 Season 16 needs to drop already. There's not much to do in-game when the majority of players are waiting for the new season😬
It's only a week away, but I have literally nothing to do in that week besides daily challenges, but I've already hit level 100 on the Scoreboard so depending on the challenge, it might not be worth the hassle.🤷♂️
Recently, with my obsession with Fallout 76, I decided to re-install Fallout 4 and give it another go because I haven't played it since it came out after I completed the main game.
But I think I done goofed because I also installed a MASSIVE modpack called StoryWealth which seems to add a bunch of quests and story stuff, but it also adds a whole re-design of the settlement system.
In the modpack, the settlement system is VERY involved. To the point where I feel it's basically "There's another settlement that needs your help, I'll mark it on your map!" The Game. :kek:
If there's anyone that's VERY familiar with Fallout 4 mods that can recommend me something that changes the settlement system, but not in such a drastic way, I'd be forever grateful. I'm looking for something a little more "hands-off". If that makes any sense😬
Are we doing #introductions again? I live in the North of England with my wife and two cats. I love #Discworld#SciFi (especially Ursula K LeGuin and N.K.Jemisin). Play #Fallout#Skyrim#Switch Always trying to learn how to be better in the world. Interests: #Gardening#Feminism#UKpolitics Toots on: whatever show I’m watching, mainly :)
Okay, Fallout has convinced me that Violet Flux isn't in the game....I've been through like 10 Nuke zones today and haven't found a single one yet....😩🤦♂️
I kinda wanna play some Fallout but I distinctly remember not enjoying the mechanics of one of the games I played at an unknown time and on an unknown device.
Might wait a few months and see what second hand copies are flying around.
Fallout 76 - hate this game, love this game, hate this, love this game... it's a swing, it's a disease and yes, I have 3 accounts. Why? I do not know. Maybe I don't like to throw things away
I have played every major release of the Fallout Franchise (aka not Tactics, Brotherhood of Steel or 76) and man the first episode of the show hits hard anyway.
Super pumped about #Fallout getting renewed. Not surprising, seeing as a lot of people seem to have enjoyed it! 😊
Now we just have to wait for a while.. :hmm_cat:
i haven't seen anyone talk about this project, and i can't believe how fast it has matured since i peeked in on it last year.
Fallout 1 & 2 Community Edition are full-on reverse engineered re-implementations of the game engines for win/mac/linux/ios/android.
FO1 was never much of a problem, because it ran very well in dosbox for decades. but FO2 was always another story - it was a 32-bit windows-only title, and it's always been a real pain in the ass to run.
Speaking of video game adaptations; I really loved the new #Fallout series. They nailed the feel of the game, but also delivered some fantastic storytelling. It even made me want to play the first two Fallouts just to get a little more understanding of the show.
