Not sure if other people do this, but I use notifications of favorites/boosts as a discovery mechanism for accounts to possibly follow.
I mean it's a potential sign they have similar interests, so might as well visit the profile and see if they post interesting stuff you want to see more of.
I'll often favorite a few posts along the way too, which I hope doesn't seem too weird to people!
Ach te ciągłe wojny rządów i platform #GAFAM, ludzi i platform, platform o jeszcze większe wpływy z reklam i dominację nad innymi platformami, to "grodzenie ogrodów" by nie wpuścić treści z zewnątrz i nie pozwolić osobom wychodzić z treściami poza platformę.
WhatsApp, Threads, Telegram i Signal usunięte z Apple App Store w Chinach."
TL;DR - Let’s see if #fedi magic can find me a #dress!
I had originally ordered this one more than two months in advance and just heard from the company it’s not even in production yet so… no go but it gives you an idea of style!
I need something to wear to two weddings this summer :blobfoxdizzy:
Requirements:
*floor length on tall people (5’10)
*formal but not bridesmaid vibes
*must feel amazingly confident so I can take down mean girls as needed
Go to github, sign in, and follow the fedi projects, #Mastodon, #Pixelfed, #PeerTube, etc. for awhile ... you shall be overwhelmed with all of the email notifications detailing all of the work being done!
Kind of amazing.
I know this goes for any major #foss project, but #fedi in particular is being banged on relentlessly by many developers, all day, every day.
Something odd, (at least the Android version of) @Tusky doesn't have a translate option for posts like the web version of Mastodon has. Wonder if that's a feature that's coming?
Do any apps allow you to login to multiple #fedi accounts and view all of the timelines combined? #fedilab ?
That is, merge #mastodon, #pixelfed, etc. Homes into a single Home... Same for notifications, local feeds, global feeds etc? For extra credit, boost across multiple accounts.
From the tusky app I go to three dots, share link to post. In the options it pops up I choose "create QR code". This then displays a full screen #qrcode that the other person scans with their phone.
So far this has been 100% successful with pretty much everybody, shows the post, no login and I think helps normalize mastodon to more of my local IRL community.
PSA: Since Threads apparently will be federating replies soon, I thought I should post this again, because there's still a lot of people that don't know.
When a normal user uses "block this domain" it's LITERALLY just a MUTE. The blocked server can still see, interact, and reply to your posts, you just won't be able to see them.
It's kinda like sitting in a room with hungry bears while wearing a blindfold. If you're scared of hungry bears, your best bet is to get out of the room, not put a blindfold on. And by this, I simply mean to migrate to an instance where the blocks are up to your standard on the "instance" level.
Stay informed and make informed decisions, no matter what you choose to do with your Fediverse presence.
Hmmm...wonder how long this has been a thing...if it's fairly new, I wonder if Threads is further along in their AP implementation than they're letting on...
To be clear, I'm talking about how Fedi handles show up as links on Threads. They don't actually link to anything yet, but they do show up as links.🤔
