(And then restart your system, of course. You can always roll back to your older pinned version of 39 should anything go wrong. Also, although not required, it’s always a good idea to install the latest updates in the current version of the OS before rebasing.)
Just rebooted and I’m up and running with Fedora Silverblue 40.
(Just tried reinstalling mozilla-openh264 – so videos work in Firefox – but it failed with the same error. Not a big deal, I’m using @Vivaldi as my main browser these days anyway and I guess the Fedora folks will fix this in time.)
More importantly, I wonder if the screen reader has been fixed yet. (Yes, Fedora ships with a broken screen reader.)
"#Fedora40 beta is fastest operating system I've tested - and it's full of useful features.
If you think your operating system is fast, wait until you get a load of the latest release from Fedora."
#qgis 3.36.1 flatpak and conda-forge versions both run without noticeable issues in #fedora40 KDE spin beta with #wayland. Is so nice having all versions updated at the same! :ablobcatrave:
Hello #Fedora 40 #branched! :)
Finally upgraded my last machine (and my daily driver) to a #KDE#Plasma6 release distro.
#Fedora40 is a very great experience even in it's current pre-release state. Many thanks to all of the folks at Fedora for making this awesome distribution! :fedora:
After letting #Fedora40 update itself my laptop wouldn’t boot, not even to the BIOS, luckily I had encountered this before with #Fedora39 back when it was pre-release.
The solution? Open up my laptop 💻 remove the hard drive, boot to BIOS, power off, reinstall the same hard drive, power on again.
This is the second time I’ve had this issue with a pre-release version.
Questions about stability and Nvidia performance on vanilla Fedora (Gnome) vs KDE
Hi! I have some newb-ish questions, and I was hoping some Fedora veterans could help me out....
