#Gaza, one drawing at a time, by Palestinian artist Maisara Baroud
"Drawing has become the special way to help me overcome death for a bit. Drawing, for me, is the way to break the blockade and in this way cancel and challenge the borders and the barriers placed by the occupation.
It is also the only way to announce: “I am still alive.”"
« Un des problèmes de cette mise en cause, de cette inculpation par la #CourPénaleInternationale c'est qu'il commence l'histoire au 7 octobre. On a l'impression qu'avant il n'y avait rien. Or, la Cour pénale internationale a été saisie depuis longtemps de ce qu'il se passe en #Cisjordanie, à #JérusalemEst et à #Gaza - elle n'a jamais rien fait » - #AlainGresh, auteur de #PalestineUnPeupleQuiNeVeutPasMourir
Izedine Lulu was besieged in Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital when he heard that Israel had bombed his family home in November. His brothers, sisters and father had all been killed.
The 21-year-old medic could not go to find their bodies because al-Shifa was surrounded by Israeli tanks and snipers. He could only tend to his patients.
"I feel like a lot of people are showing their own callousness. I keep hearing people wonder why college students would care so much about people they don't know and why they would risk their own education and future for someone else.
It's probably best not to trust any Israeli voices on the state of things in #Israel or #Gaza. Even this Israeli "scholar," who admits that Israelis are almost unanimously pro-genocide, is pushing the "sexual violence" lie about Oct. 7.
« C’est un mini-séisme politique, diplomatique, mais aussi un moment clé durant lequel se joue la crédibilité de la justice pénale internationale et en particulier de la #CourPénaleInternationale. »

Israeli officials anticipate that the International Court of Justice in The Hague will issue orders on Friday to halt the ongoing military conflict with Palestinian militants in Gaza, according to a senior diplomatic source. On Thursday, ICJ said it will rule on Friday on South Africa's request to order a halt to the Rafah offensive in Gaza that South Africa submitted. www.israelhayom.com
"The billions of our pounds that have been used to subsidise the weapons going to #Israel, that have been used to slaughter people in #Gaza, should be going into social housing, into our schools, into our #NHS", says #AndrewFeinstein
Netanyahu and Biden governments in meltdown again as three countries bypass US veto and declare Palestine a state
The US and Israeli governments have reacted with fury to announcements by three European governments, at the same time, that they are recognising Palestinian statehood. Ireland, Norway and Spain have all now formally declared Palestine to be a state.
The International Court of Justice will rule on South Africa’s request to order a halt to Israel’s offensive on Rafah tomorrow [Friday] afternoon.
The demand is part of a larger case brought by South Africa accusing Israel of genocide.
After initial hearings in January, the ICJ issued several provisional measures, ordering Israel to take action to limit humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
The IDF has ignored US advice on how to avoid the mass killing of civilians in Gaza & hasn't even implemented its own existing avoidance policies. "There’s a huge disagreement on strategy now.
"The US has given Israel carte blanche up till now & continues to ship light weapons."
It's absolutely clear to the Palestinians that "the US is doing next to nothing to save them from the onslaught of the Israeli forces."
In the last 24 hours, there has been a clear increase in all military attacks across Gaza, starting with the Daraj neighbourhood of Gaza City. A four-storey building was completely destroyed, killing at least 16 Palestinians, including 10 children. An evacuation centre was also targeted.
"In Israelis' wallowing and victimhood; in endless self-righteous panels on TV; in cries about an antisemitic world and the injustice of bundling Israel with Hamas, there's one fundamental, fateful question missing: Did Israel commit war crimes in Gaza? No one dares deal with this critical, key question: Were there, or were there not, crimes?"
Gideon Levy
"It is not enough to blame Netanyahu, the main culprit, nor is it enough to whitewash this with evasive arguments about hasbara, faulty legal counsel & extreme remarks from Israeli officials. The issue runs far deeper: For 57 years, Israel has been maintaining a regime of wrongdoing and evil, and now, at last, the world is waking up and starting to act against it. Will it also be able to wake up at least some Israelis from their heedless, twisted sense of justice?"
