April weather remains changeable…what am I saying? It’s like that all year round.
Living with four seasons in one day is the norm here in Scotland. In fact the old idea that the seasons were four distinct phases in the year has become a rather quaint way of looking at the passing of time. Although the flora and fauna know are familiar with the changes and adapt well, I struggle with finding the right kind of raincoat.
The Grant Tower at Urquhart Castle beside Loch Ness. A great castle in a wonderful location, and one of the best sites on the loch for Nessie spotters. The castle was possibly built on the site of a much earlier Pictish fortification. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/drumnadrochit/urquhart/index.html
We have arrived in the little town on Fort Augustus at the very southern tip of #LochNess. The hotel is somehow both cosy and imposing, it has a lovely large wood panelled lounge with a real fire and a grand piano. We’ve seen some amazing scenery on our journey from the ferry port and it hasn’t rained as much as was predicted. That’s a big win in the #highlands! #Scotland#RoadTrip
Here for a cryptid interpretative centre that knows what it’s about; we can never have too many folklore museums and related visitor attractions in this world:
What lies beneath: a fresh wave of Loch Ness tourism promises monster rewards for Drumnadrochit
#Drones galore and other sensors, if I were #Nessie I'd go into hiding quick 😬
"Organised by the newly revamped #LochNessCentre, volunteers from across the globe will participate in person and online in what is believed to be the largest surface watch, searching for breaks in the water and any inexplicable movements over a two-day period." #CryptoZoology#LochNess#Legends

A search for the Loch Ness Monster ends without evidence of existence.
The biggest Loch Ness Monster hunt in over half a century has resulted in several reports of possible sightings but nothing conclusive. The evaluation of the data would take a lot of time, the organisers said.
