Famous Coldplay singer offered lift to an arthritis patient. Humanity is there afterall, we should be kind like him!

A woman with mobility issues was left shocked when Coldplay front-man Chris Martin offered her a lift at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

Q. why does the Govt. want the GMC to also regulate physician associates & anaesthesia associates?

The BMA thinks this will 'muddy the waters' on regulation of the & will lead to confusion about whether they have actually seen .

But, perhaps the key thing to ask is what are the trying to achieve?

As elsewhere they are trying to normalise the de-professionalisation of staff & dilute skills... in this case, to further damage the NHS's reputation!

in 2023 satisfaction with the dropped by 17% leaving levels the lowest since data collection started in 1997.

In an over-stretched system, where the internal market has reduced procedures & patients to economic data (outputs/efficiency etc.) is it any wonder that people do not feel satisfied?

Improving empathy may be the answer, but the lack of empathy is not only a personal issue for & , it has been engineering into the NHS by 'reforms'

@ChrisMayLA6 from experience many many moons ago when things were much better than they are now, in terms of workload. It's very hard, if not impossible, to be empathetic when you're exhausted and there are six more people waiting for your attention. All you really want to do is get even 10 minutes sleep. We at least had rooms with beds to sleep in and a mess to try to unwind in. Today's doctors have neither, & are bottom of the pecking order in hospitals, PAs are afforded greater respect, IME.

This is unfortunately only reinforced by the UK culture of not sharing any medical results with patients.

Not only NHS but even at private hospitals you have to be very assertive to even get x-ray photos of your own broken limb and the personnel actively discourages you from getting these.

At NHS the most absurd situation I faced was a “periodic health check” blood test to which I was invited by NHS, then nothing happened for weeks, then I had to call the GP reception only to get “yeah it’s fine” response and I’m not really convinced the person on the other end actually looked at my results.

Doctors are actively taking away your right to see your own results claiming they are the only competent people to assess them (like you need an MD title to recognise the “H” mark in cholesterol row), but then don’t follow up on them “because they’re busy” 🤷

For the largest in the , AI's error rate is like a feature, not a bug. Big Met Its Match When It Turned Down a Top Trial Lawyer’s Request for Treatment

Blue Cross and Blue Shield denied payment for the proton therapy Robert “Skeeter” Salim’s doctor ordered to fight his throat cancer.

But he was no ordinary . He was a celebrated litigator.

And he was ready to fight.

Our "healthcare" system is an unbelievably bad and cruel joke, glad rich guy here was able to fight his own battle, but millions more can't. Man, good thing we avoided the so-called "death panels" and didn't get that single payer/public option! Much better having for-profit death panels standing between us and our doctors, deciding what treatments our doctors can do for us.

So yesterday at work - one of the dev teams mentioned in passing that they were doing schema cleanup. They are dropping 30+ columns from the table that are no longer used by the application. I asked if they were testing for downstream impact. The response? Crickets, wind in the grass, the occasional owl floating by.

No matter how long I work in IT, I am always surprised by how blind senior architects can be when it comes to data related stuff.
