Such an innocent looking query... I didn't expect it to do this!

One table has 500 rows, the other has 381k. Table stats are accurate. The planner still decides it will return 39M rows, roughly 20% of what a cartesian join. The screenshot is from pgMustard, plan here: https://app.pgmustard.com/#/explore/486276b3-d9e5-4bc8-a1eb-a3a23cd1caf4?highlighted=0

The #performance #profiling tools in a modern #browser like #Firefox or #Chrome are something I can only deam of when doing #gamedev #programming.

Yet, many websites are slow as fuck.

Do you work in #webdev? I want you to order an old phone from ebay right now. Like a Samsung Galaxy S4 or something. Go visit your website with it. Did you have a good experience? Well, 1 in every 10 visitors has that experience. Fix your shit.

Everything I’ve said so far is about composing for live , and specifically about preparing music (on paper) to be brought to life by who are trained to interpret it. That’s most of what I do in music. But I would love to work more with players and explore that side of my musicianship again. Either way though, I’ve always depended on performers, and has always been my focus.

Okay so what about ? I agree with @terjefjelde that and recorded music are two different things—even when it’s a of a live .

Many times I’ve had the experience of being really pleased with a when I heard it live, and then a little disappointed when I heard the of the same performance. And I think that’s because there’s a kind of magic to a committed performance that evaporates from the recording, leaving me bugged by minor flaws that didn’t bother me at the concert.

A thought about form validation in JavaScript. If your form is well designed only a small minority of users will hit form validation. So why give everyone the performance hit of downloading and running the JavaScript when that minority of users could hit server-side validation (which you need anyway)?

“Mass #propaganda discovered that its audience was ready at all times to believe the worst, no matter how absurd, and did not particularly object to being deceived because it held every statement to be a lie anyhow. The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in #cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.”

estelle,

Make it true:
Hannah observed that men gaining in Germany did not lie because they believed what they were saying, or even because they expected YOU to believe it. They were lying to state out what had to become in order to justify what they intended to do.
