In the liver of Nagoya, the Sakura Liquor Store stands as a testament to the city's vibrant nightlife, its window dressed in a tapestry of postmodern vinyl, reflecting the complex notes of urban life like a fine aged whiskey. 🍶🌆🍷

名古屋の中心部に位置するさくら酒店は、都会の活気あるナイトライフの証としてそびえ立ち、複雑な都市生活のノートを熟成されたウイスキーのように反映したポストモダンなビニールのタペストリーで窓が飾られています。🍶🌆🍷

there are not little accounts on the , who on first sight promote * only to get a whole lot of reactionary crap passed under the radar and show off their simplistic world views and lack of capacity and/or will to get the discourse. by all means culture_crit is a perfect example.
*in itself nothing wrong with that at all

Have you played ? The players never know quite what's going on in the game world because the Dungeon Master is an Unreliable Narrator. Note that this is quite distinct from D&D where all the participants are simply tripping on acid.

I was at a lecture the other day, a special showing of Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums, and the speaker mentioned that Wes Anderson is seen as "postmodern"

He then defined "postmodern" briefly, trying not to get hung up on it, as "weird for the sake of weird"

(quoting Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons)

And since then I've been dwelling on it a little...

Now that discourse about "postmodernism" has kind of faded, can we get a better picture of what it is? Or was?

JeSuisUnHombre,

@miksimum is that a bad thing? I'd argue no, it's a healthy way forward to realize the clarity of outline and delineation we perceived was really constructed rather than inherent. Maybe we need a new term for the acceptance of the true ambiguity of the world around us, assuming we can get there.

The has apologised to the batrachian , but the sum total of it is: "We reported you lost your account because you don't have the money. This was not entirely accurate. You also lost your account because you're a bigoted shit."

Farage and his fanbois are gloating. But he's still gunning after someone senior in the bank, because it was never about money or 'spree feach'. This is about revenge and intimidation, and always has been.

This headline, meanwhile, is impressive mental gymnastics and gaslighting even by Farageian simp standards.

Less 'Hurrah For The Blackshirts!' and more psychosis for low level sociopaths.

What's dangerous about is what's dangerous about . They attract people who are willing to embrace utter absurdity and madness, just so they never have to admit they're wrong, or ever have to properly grow up.

The first episode of Season Three is live to the public today, hooray!!

In this "50 Shades of Solarpunk" episode, @arielkroon and @xtinadlr open Season 3 with a chat about what , or, at least this solarpunk is setting out to achieve… according to how Ariel sees it. With her occasionally curmudgeonly devil’s advocacy, Christina provides the nuance we need as we push through topics, including the definition of solarpunk in a time of slippery language (that, in true solarpunk fashion, changes according to cultural context and locale), the and its multiple issues, mix-tape metaphors, Ursula K LeGuin’s Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, (of course), as resistance, and a liiiiittle bit of academic .

Dude will tie themselves into knots rationalising their desire to be selfish by citing everything between Aristoteles, John Dewey, and utilitarianism, in lengthy hyper-complex intellectual posturing that basically just boils down to:

"But I wanna!"

witchescauldron,

@baldur this is true, with the default we would end up with mess.

What happens if we try not to do the postmodernist default?

What would that looklike

witchescauldron,

@baldur you are not wrong, but step back for a wider view to try and see and talk about the root of this mess. I would say this is an example of from the path.

Can we look at this from a view to take a different path?

Good faith question.

witchescauldron,

@baldur

Think this is easy to answer.

nop,
nop,

And worth talking about, there are overlaps between the economics of and the use of philosophy over the last 40 years.

We have a HUGE social mess, and no social language or thinking to compost this mess.

We need a way of thinking, is a shovel, we have lots of mess to compost.

We typically found little to be confusing about your hashtags, once you explained them. For example, we didn't understand what you meant by until you linked it to notions of individualism.

We absolutely love your tag to describe the likes of the (eg. Cloudflare-Amazon-Google-TwitterBuyer-Microsoft-Apple-Fakebook-IBM-Akamai cabal).

We will continue to use that hashtag until the threat of is over.

Touche. Yes, individualism in many forms is bad, but there is a form that went unnoticed and indeed celebrated for decades and that is the, "if-you-believe-it-then-it-is-true" form, and it was basically allowed to permeate all forms of media, and the effects of which still affect us today.
