Briefly back onto the Farnsworths. Finished both cases, but one of the displays died, and the replacement sent was wrong. So waiting (again) to get the second one running.
Moved the Strowger script and the test card script onto an Internet facing server. Currently, I can only try the test card and remote loop back.
Hmm, after having #nextcloud run on my #rpi for a bit I noticed I really don't need it. (Because the video chat just doesnt work as it should).
Maybe I'll just reset the rpi again and focus on some leaner system.
Maybe I'll try with #xmpp this time. Have to check if that has good voice and screenshare options right now. And maybe a web interface.

Been playing #MineClone2 on #MineTest as I'm on a #RPi. So far I suck, I think the beginning game is harder on MineTest then #Minecraft. But It's sill fun.
Is there a Minetest package similar to Minecraft but doesn't try to clone it?
Ok, this should put some people at ease. We haven't had much information on the #XZ debacle on the #LinuxMint side. We know that Mint is built on #Ubuntu and by extension #Debian. The obvious question: was Mint affected - the quick answer - No, that we know of, as of today. I did a fresh install of Virginia 21.3 and it comes with #liblzma5 version 5.2.5

A followup. There are implementations of FORTH on RaspberryPi, including a “bare metal” one. I dont want to tie up one of my Pis, so I may opt for the more standard one, gForth.

I was going to get an #RPi#raspberrypi 5 but then I heard about the Sony deal and the #IPO and I think of all the people who've put hours and hours of their free time into a product which was (?is) #OpenHardware and how the directions of that product will now be subject to shareholder rather than user desires.
Sure, we need to think about sustainability in all things #OpenSource but what's the bet ARM or NVIDIA will buy it out to shutter it?
managed to get The Lounge running on my #RPi, connected to the Synchronet #IRC server also running on there, now I just need to find a way to connect the machine to the outside world.
together with a video conference system (Galène) and a #usenet web interface (rslight) I slowly start to make this usable for hosting my #ttrpg games without discord
Finally I managed to get my 8BitDo SNES controllers to work with my #RetroPie. That was weirdly hard, because on #RPi 3 this just worked. But now I am using my granny RPi 1 with a bluetooth dongle and shit hit the fan.
Anyhow, I could finally play some old Smurfs game with my kid. He just jumped around with a Smurf all the time, so we didn't get far. But that totally rocked.

I'm just now backing up #HomeAssistant and running the updates in preparation for moving its host #RPi 4B power source.
It feels like one of those sliding puzzle things where I'm doing this so I can then move an old laptop now running w/ #PuppyLinux, so I can then re-install my older RPi 1B which now boots from an old #NAS harddrive, so I can re-install #Mosquitto, so I can get my #MQTT msgs propagating again, so I can see #Mastodon toots of door open/close events.
@itsfoss Rapsberry Pi... Yawn... A perfect story of a biz suffering from their own success. I moved on to cheaper, and readily available, x86-based SFF machines with USB-based GPIO. Won't buy a rpi for a long, long time.
Fun fact: you can make your PiKVM multiport by just hooking it up to a cheap four ports HDMI kvm and hooking up the control serial port to the rpi hub, and setting up macros in kvmd to make it switch ports from the Web UI.

I also run a Nextcloud docker and that's around 260MB.

An interesting find! I got my hands on a Raspberry Pi 4S, which is the most powerful module in the CM3 format. It isn't available for retail customers but somehow a store in Denmark had 4 of them in stock 🤑
And today it arrived! Broadcom 2711 MCU with the C0 stepping (same as RPi 4B which can run at 1.8GHz) with 32 GB eMMC (Samsung KLMBG2JETD-B041) and 1 GB LPDDR4 (Samsung K4F8E3S4HD-MGCL).
