More than 2,300 public comments flooded in—the majority negative—when the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recently debated a proposal to trade away 43 acres of Boca Chica State Park, to #SpaceX.
Someone on Reddit was asking if there is any way of detecting something in an exoplanet atmosphere which would have no other explanation than life. I'm pretty happy with my answer.

“The budget proposal is functional first step to begin internalizing the externalities wrought from private space flight—the short-term costs are unquestionably most evident in air traffic control. Using the internalization of that cost as a wedge to pursue broader policy initiatives that ensure the ongoing low-Earth congestion caused by increased satellite deployment is calculated and compensated for is a long-term solution.”
They're making announcements at Jack London Amtrak station that there's a system wide delay (I don't think 🤞 my train is affected) that because of a stuck drawbridge, wondering where that would be. also this is the closest I've ever been to missing a train (other than the time we missed our stop and were carry-bys).
The degree to which SpaceX has fundamentally changed the space launch industry 🚀 is truly amazing. As Ars Technica notes "this was the sixth Falcon 9 launch in less than eight days, more flights than SpaceX's main US rival, United Launch Alliance, has launched in 17 months."

There is a wonderful period in the late 1950's and 60's where science fact and science fiction intermingle as enthusiasm for the space age was gaining momentum.
