#HurricaneSeason2024 is underway in the eastern Pacific. Two disturbances south of Mexico are being monitored by the NHC, and a tropical depression could form this weekend or early next week.
I'm picky when it comes to fruits, which is a tragedy considering the many varieties in this tropical country where I live. My usual faves are ripe mangoes and pineapple. That's why I'm so glad to discover my love for mangosteen, which now makes it to my top three faves. 🥰
The pounding rain woke me up. It's calmer now, so I might find a little window to get out there this am and feed everybody before it starts again, but Maui getting the shit kicked out of them. Y'all hunker down! #hawaii#weather#tropics#rain#konalow
The third coat of #primer is applied to my studio desk (in #restoration) despite #humidity levels between 88% and 98%. The hardest part is the sanding in between, because the paint does not dry completely even after days in these conditions. #rain#tropics
Another rack of cuban red bananas. A few of them split, bc of the amount of rain we got after a "dry" spell, so started ripening a bit too fast. I cut them down before the rats found them. Look closely, you can see a couple split, but also a "conjoined twin" banana. Almost all of my Cavendish variety racks have one. They are all clones, so it makes sense they'd all have similar rack patterns. #foodforest#tropics#homestead#gardening
#Tammy in the Atlantic and #Norma in the Pacific are two very different storms but will hopefully offer modest impacts to the areas they threaten. Still, interests in the Caribbean (Tammy) and Baja (Norma) should monitor these storms.
Atlantic:
AL94 in the Atlantic has a 90% chance of formation in the next 7 days, and has a 60% chance of formation in the next 48 hours, down from 70% yesterday.
Eastern Pacific:
There's two disturbances in the Eastern Pacific. One which has an 80% chance of formation in the next 7 days, while the other has a 30% chance.
