Since the outbreak of the #AvianFlu flu seems to be spreading from Texas, are the people who called #COVID19 the “China Virus” calling this the “Texas Virus?” 🙂
Public library staff in an Alabama town have locked up the library and walked off their jobs after the library's director was fired. The director had refused to remove 113 books with LGBTQ+ content from circulation after being ordered to do so by a library board dominated by right-wing Christian fundamentalists.
Considering several of the rioters were carrying weapons, built a gallows and planned to murder the VP, Pelosi and a few other congressmen isn’t too alarming to RFK Jr. His extremism is very disturbing #vote as if your life and freedom are on the line because apparently it is
@GottaLaff@stevebenen and if you watched #foxnews yesterday you’d think Biden was destroying our economy and we’re on the verge of a recession or depression. Reality doesn’t mean anything to them
The “meeting in many a university setting” version of this is that no one can understand your idea or suggestion because you speak a foreign and slightly hysterical language, but when a male white colleague kindly rephrases it for you or just states it as his own, it’s a million dollar idea 🙃.
@historleans I was in a meeting a few years ago and gave them a solution to a serious problem we were having. No response. Nothing. My supervisor parroted my solution word for word 10 minutes later and his boss called him a genius. 🤷♀️
Hi Lenora, today's Bones topic is: 4/2/2024 Anniversary ep choice: Teacher in the Books (4/2/2015) / Prisoner in the Pipe (4/2/12) / Doctor in the Den (04/02/09). Sorry for the late notice.
One reason I never had children. Too old to adopt, unfortunately.
'It pains me that my child has to experience loss. I thought I should call him and tell him, 'I'm sorry I brought you into such a cruel world. Sorry, I apologize'"
Project 2025 partner floats repealing the 22nd Amendment and allowing Trump to serve a third term
The American Conservative, a right-wing blog and Project 2025 partner, published an article 💥advocating to repeal the 22nd Amendment💥 so that Donald Trump would be able to serve a #third#term.
The 22nd Amendment, ratified in 1951, limits a president to serving two terms. It was adopted after former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected to a third and fourth term amid public concerns about a “long-term president.”
An article headlined “Trump 2028” published in The American Conservative advocates for the amendment’s repeal so that Trump could be eligible to serve a third term should he win the 2024 election.
The American Conservative is a partner of #Project2025, the conservative movement’s comprehensive transition plan for the next Republican presidency. Project 2025
— organized and led by The Heritage Foundation, a leading right-wing think tank
— is a policy and staffing initiative that threatens to weaken democracy, significantly roll back civil rights, and exacerbate climate change, among other issues.
#Peter#Tonguette, a contributing writer to the Washington Examiner who also regularly writes for The American Conservative, dubiously argues in his piece that the drafters of the 22nd Amendment could not have anticipated a president who would serve nonconsecutive terms, a possibility that he argues is a reflection of Trump’s supposedly unique popularity.
(Polls show that the majority of Americans have an unfavorable view of the former president.)
He says voters should not be “denied the freedom” to elect him to a third term.
@SteveBologna@LindaCollins11 I had mouth surgery with locals because I’m too sensitive to anesthesia and the sounds and the cutting was very creepy but I can imagine your experience was even worse
I'm noticing that the never-Trumper Republicans are making efforts to Democrats to shift their policies to the right for them since so many of the far-leftists have started campaigning against Democrats.
It's like people have no comprehension that their actions have consequences.
What makes them blame Biden and Democrats instead of Netanyahu and the Likud Party if not Putin's political technology? I don't want to believe that they're this stupid naturally.
