Today the House Agriculture Committee will vote on the . Republicans want the largest cut to food assistance in 30 years and to weaken conservation & climate efforts. It’s wrong for NE Ohio and the country. We need a bipartisan Farm Bill that doesn’t punish families.

Joe Biden is trying to help indebted Americans.

TFG promised oil execs to get rid of environmental protections if they donate a billion to his legal fund/political campaign.

No word from Republicans on how further tax cuts for corporations and multi-millionaires are not reckless wealth transfers. Republican support for debt bondage is full-throated, however.

Mike Johnson attacks Biden for deal the speaker himself approved

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) took to X on Wednesday to slam President Joe Biden for liquidating the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve (NGSR), a regional reserve of 1 million barrels intended to be an emergency supply of fuel for northeastern states.

"It’s clear that the Biden Administration only cares about the American people’s concerns when it’s time to beg for their votes. Disgraceful," wrote Johnson.

There's just one problem, as a lot of people pointed out: Johnson himself approved this selloff of the NGSR, as part of one of the recent bipartisan appropriations deal.

This plan was detailed in March by Newsweek: "Under a bill providing funding for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the fiscal year, a million barrels of the government's strategic reserve of petroleum would be sold off — the same amount as in the NGSR, which is located in New York Harbor, Boston, Massachusetts and South Portland, Maine," after which the NGSR would be shut down, and the bill was "the result of cross-party negotiations

The whitewashing of what Donald Trump did during the pandemic is stunning.

In fact, 400,000 Americans were confirmed dead of COVID-19 during the Trump administration—with the estimated undercount at that point being an additional 75,000.

The next 200,000 to die died because of negligent practices Trump pushed while in office and before President Biden could do anything about it.

Trump rhetoric continued to spur deaths thereafter.

Now an educated man is putting just "100,000" deaths on Trump.

Southern Florida once again has "EXTREME" Heat Risk today 5/18/24.

Extreme - This level of rare and/or long-duration extreme heat with little to no overnight relief affects anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts likely in most health systems, heat-sensitive industries and infrastructure.

Trump has said FOUR times that he will withhold federal funding from schools that require vaccines. Not just COVID. ALL.

This is most schools. This is hitting me where I work. This will lead to children dead from measles. It's obvious, inevitable.

Someone on here said they just couldn't bear to vote for Biden to keep Trump from office since at least under Trump there were better masking rules.

I hope that person sees this.

Worse is worse.

According to Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, religious freedom means being able to prevent other people's access to contraception, so he had to veto a bill that would have enshrined rights.

He also vetoed bills ending tax breaks for the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the issuance of new Confederate license plates.

This is what you get when you elect Republicans, no matter how affable or moderate they pretend to be before an election.

Civil Discourse by Joyce Vance

Justice Alito

“You can hardly blame the folks who saw the flag flying at the ’s home and decided it had to be brought to the Court’s attention. Surprisingly, it’s taken this long to become public. The Times reported that the half-dozen or so neighbors who were aware of it asked to remain anonymous because they “feared reprisal.” Let that sink in as we contemplate what a second term in office might look like.”
