#MarjorieTaylorGreene was able to throw the whole thing into chaos, first by mocking the physical appearance of #JasmineCrockett , then insulting the intelligence of #AlexandriaOcasioCortez . Chairman Comer allowed MTG to break this rule of order, which is why Jasmine Crockett returned an insult to Greene.

Think about this: All the nonsense talk in circles of the U.S. corporate news media about “should the Democrats have Biden step down and get someone else to run?” while no one in the media says “shouldn’t Republicans tell a 91-count indicted DT to end his bid for the WH?”

The media buzz on Biden's age is similar to but not nearly as intense as the frenzy over Hillary Clinton's emails. That one was spectacular, like another 9/11.

    In the case of Eliot Rodger, it wasn't that he couldn't find a girlfriend. He wanted to win the trophy girl and present her to his father. Her reality as a person had nothing to do with it. She symbolized his worth.

    Ginni Thomas was directly involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Her consulting firm also stands to gain if Trump is re-elected. Yet Clarence Thomas refuses to recuse himself from the Colorado ballot case. This should be a scandal of epic proportions.

    I think one of the reasons why Mastodon feels like a nicer place than other social media apps is that the technical complexity & federated nature only really attracts idealistic nerds who genuinely want a better internet. I almost never see assholes here, no engagement baiting, nothing. Ironically, this means that IMO any simplification and move towards mainstream appeal will almost automatically jeopardize this. Tough dilemma!

    BFF and I would always get together with coffee & copies of a ballot to discuss how we might vote. Not that either of us was all that well-informed. But at least voting was not a deer-in-headlights-type deal. BFF passed on; still here in spirit at election time.
