@alison Blocking is a different, much more radical process.

BTW, I showed the browser screenshot. Different apps have different possibilities. If an app does not have a function, it helps to set it via the browser in between.

@dasgrueneblatt Well, we have several crises at the time. f.e. the price of vegetables in winter comes mostly from high energy costs (greenhouses, transport, cooling in the shop) and inflation (higher in GB). It depends also on the world market which changed dangerously for some crops because of Russia's war. Plus the EU has better contracts for member states. Since Brexit, it is complicated + expensive to export to GB. The drought influenced not every plant.

@dasgrueneblatt Could there be a rural-urban divide? I observe an ever-worsening detachment of people from nature (they no longer understand interconnections). But in rural areas you can see live how crops dry up, can't you?
The salutary shock came in France when there was no more mustard for months. And not because of a war, but because the mustard seed in Canada had died from drought and heat. If there was any, it cost gold. People felt that.

You are not alone in worrying. Here in France, we have nearly no day without the media reminding us of the drought and the situation in our neighbour country Spain, especially after the extremes of 2022 and the winter drought: https://www.francetvinfo.fr/meteo/secheresse/
Politics changes water laws. And we have militant demonstrations against the unecological building of water basins. Here, in a rural region, we see and feel failing crops.

@dasgrueneblatt From my perspective as a , this is a typical statistics article. People can't imagine numbers in concrete terms, they don't relate it to their lives. Stories like this should be told using examples, such as the popular tomato from Spain. When I write about forest fires, hectares are of no use, I should write about all that dies, all that is lost. Journalists have to become more descriptive, vivid, and concrete!

@UlrikeGebhardt Ich bin kein Fachmensch, aber zum Vergleich: Hier in Frankreich ist die neue Empfehlung noch lockerer. Allerdings haben wir eine höhere Impfrate als in De und vor allem Risikogruppen sind zu sehr hohem Prozentsatz geimpft. https://covidtracker.fr/vaccintracker/

Brass cast little sculpture of a wood cube showing tunnels carved by a woodworm. Of course the tree was already firewood when I found it, I only cut it into a rough cube. And the woodworm was long gone: Wherever you are, I hope you're OK, it was nice making this collab with you.

@enriquericos "script" perhaps isn't the correct word. Often the "engravings" of certain wood-eating beetles remind me of "art rupestre", the stone engravings of stone age cultures. And I think: what if we could "read" what these beetles experienced? These were my spontaneous connotations ...
