Red squirrels in the Queen Elizabeth forest in the Trossachs.

LOOK AT THEIR TUFTY FLUFFINESS!

Taken with a hand held camera because I wasn't expecting to video, I was there to get snaps of the birds from the bird hide, but they were were just so cute.

Also cheeky, stealing ALL THE NUTS.

Video footage of red squirrels on a tree trunk with a bird nut feeder attached to it. They circle around it, chasing each other, before one stops to have a good old munch of nuts, before the other reappears and they dash off up the tree.

@eclectech Are you quite sure that it wasn't a squirrel feeder? I mean it looks just like a squirrel feeder, squirrels are supposed to be able to lift the lid. There would be no way for birds to access the nuts if it was a squirrel feeder.

Here is a Willow Warbler performing on a branch.

This bird weighs between 7-12 gms and eats a wide variety of small insects and spiders. {Fruit and berries in autumn}. I don't see these often at all.

Home from my first radiotherapy session. Four more to go, I should be all done by Tuesday next week. I love our #NHS 😍
A lady, I only met today, got to ring the bell and say an emotional goodbye to the staff, as she completed her course of 36 radiotherapy treatments. 🙂

I think this is a horseshoe crab. I have some traumatic footage of one stuck on its back but I can't do anything with it until I find the footage of it righting itself.

Another odd thing. I saw this rotting flower & was immediately transported back to my aunt's bathroom & the crocheted doll that used to sit on top of the toilet roll.

Which is a little unkind about my old aunt's decor really, as her doll had a delightful pink dress as I recall with no rotting involved at all, but the shape is just perfect.

Right. That's this mornings odd observations (oddservations?!) out of the way over coffee, now to Sensible Things.

@eclectech Sticking my oar in - crochet is a French word we've adopted and pronounced in the French way, but then we've stuck an English past tense ending onto it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ No wonder it looks odd. Just imagine if we'd used the French past tense instead 🤔

Hand drawn animation loop. There are 40 simple figures each doing their own dance move. 39 of them (one from each week I've done this) are on a single large cloud in the foreground. Above them is the new dancer for this week, larger and on their own cloud. Sparkly rainbows appear and disappear in each top corner and across the back of the smaller cloud.

I was about to post HOW CAN ONE PERSON MAKE SO MUCH SNOT?! then decided I should know that, so have just been on a deep dive about it and now I feel much better informed.

Also discovered there is both a metal band and rapper called Snot and I do NOT know what to do with this information.

Oh, and I found a recipe, but I'm not following that as I am doing OK there already 🤧

I've found where all the swans gather near my new home. Visited a new location today called Pitsford Water (Northamptonshire, UK).

Here is a close up of a Mute Swan. Its a young one, would have been a cygnet last year.

The robin in my garden was outraged - OUTRAGED - at having to eat on the floor like the common wood pigeons.

I interpreted his chattering as a rather indignant query as to the location of his usual perch. Not sure he fully took on board my explanation that cleaning was required.

It has now been returned, but I fear the indignity of eating scraps from the floor remains.

Warning! In order to find the following gif even remotely entertaining (or, indeed, comprehensible) you will probably need:

  1. Knowledge of a particular childhood song

  2. Understanding of the British summer picnic, with their combination of grumbling & determination

  3. To be familiar with a particular informal English word (I have no idea how common it is)

Basically this is a pretty awful niche joke & the funniest thing at the moment is me trying not to 'spoil' it with the 3 points above.

Photo based animation. Four sad looking teddy bears drop down in turn on to a blanket on a beach. Each moans about something as they drop in. The first holds a sandwich ("My sandwich is yukky. I don't like lettuce."). The second holds a shortbread biscuit ("This biscuit is wrong. I wanted a custard cream."). The third holds a banana ("My banana is too yellow. And bends too much."). The final one says "I've got sand in my pants. And not in a good way." Finally a picnic basket drops in along with the text "Because today's the day the teddy bears have their nitpick!"

Recuperating today, after attending a meeting yesterday in which some people were pompous & rude as well as ill-informed. This is not a good combination.

Today the sun is shining, I don't have a meeting, & I'm on the last 5% of The Quantifiable Project. This is a better combination.

@eclectech My lovely daughter is wrestling with a project with a tight deadline and budget. Senior person visits office, meets her for 1st time and immediately demands she is more tightly supervised, assisted etc etc. He'd mistaken her for a 14yr old. He then emailed her next day, she commented to me, "well at least he'll have seen that my title is Senior Hydrogeologist." 🙄
