While I was working. My son took my chicken #curry recipe, added #Tajin, #sriracha, and sesame oil, and different mixed vegetables, and made a delicious dish. So proud of him!
@bamfic Yes I've been seeing threats and hints of plans for months. I wonder how gun sales are doing. This weekend may have more news items than I want it to.
My son wants me to post this, he would like to get help for his BFFs (twins from his HS). They just need some food and household items for their family.
Their dad lost his job and the twins have been working every week to try to supplement mom's pay but they are short on basics like food and soap. (There are younger sibs too.)
They are such nice kiddos, and trying to support their family as teens!

Cases of cereal, tomato sauce, beans, etc.!

Our species as a whole really feels like a lost cause some days.
I was years late to watching Monk, but I fell into the "I hate the theme music change" group before I knew there was a controversy about it.
It's not just that there was a change. I absolutely HATE that song. I hate the lurpy neck-bobbing way Newman sings it, I hate his vocal stylings, I hate the Hee-Haw tempo, and the ga-doink ga-doink piano. (I'm neutral on the lyrics though--it's the execution I can't stand.)
I jump to forward through every intro to avoid it.
So here's the thing. I like animals including, of course, dogs. (I don't have any because I live in an apartment and I'm allergic to most mammals.)
But when I'm running/hiking at the county park. Where leashes are REQUIRED on the trails. And dogs I don't know come running up to me.
The reason I look unhappy at the owners is not because I dislike dogs. It is not because I have an irrational "fear" of dogs. It's because I don't like complete strangers running up to me out in the woods. 😠
I said "Thank you!" to a guy who took his (leashed) dogs to the side when he saw me approaching. It was considerate of him.
The people I'm giving a look to, it's not because I am "scared" and need their emotional reassurance. I have that expression because I am angry at the person.
Reassuring me about the dog's personality when they are with you, at home, is not helpful to me and makes me angrier.
I've said it before but I'll say it again.
It's not that everyone I know who had #Covid has developed terrible new medical issues.
It's that everyone I know who has developed terrible new medical issues recently had Covid.
And in every case I'm thinking of, it's become a health crisis within about three months of their most Covid bout. (Usually not a bad bout, either.)
Two months after moderate Covid bout. Previously healthy and active person. Life-threatening sudden heart attack that required an ambulance and was said to be near fatal. Required emergency surgery and months of inpatient and outpatient recovery just to get basic mobility back. Still not recovered, now newly diagnosed with cancer.
Young schoolteacher, very resourceful, witty, clever, incredibly organized and disciplined, dedicated.
Had Covid twice in 2021. Had to quit teaching due to fatigue, memory loss. Instead of getting better it got worse. Had to be hospitalized multiple times for brain issues. Short term and long term memory issues, developed (new) frank psychotic symptoms that last months when they flare up. Also severe depression, hives. Constant appts, barely functional, lost home & friends. Finally got SSDI.
I have to wait for my kid to graduate HS and move out before I can really goth out again. He's just way more long-hair artsy techno and it overwhelms him.
