Just a reminder that the Electoral College and a Two-Party system are both in place to negate a popular vote and maintain power within a ruling structure of the filthy rich.

America is kind of like two monarchs that trade power every few years.

I'm not in any way suggesting that the parties are the same, it's clear that America will have a choice between a center-right party and an ultra-right-wing fascist dictatorship.

But it does us no good to move forward without understanding the stakes and the systemic challenges, or the way have gamed the fragile and vulnerable Electoral College system.

Pretending that the system is fair or equitable isn't helping anyone.

I think you're right, one must be pragmatic when it comes to actual elections.

While Clinton (and frankly Biden in 2020) weren't my cup of tea, I supported them and the party. The alternative was abhorrent. Honestly, I've never supported the Republican and see no viable road to do so.

For its faults, I do prefer a parliamentary system as it gives voice to more viewpoints and often provides a more balanced field of options.

The US 2 party system is inherently polarizing and extreme.

Ranked voting does seem to address many of the weaknesses and inequalities in the current system.

Which is probably why US parties hate it.

I was gobsmacked when the UK voted to Brexit. The campaign by Brexit politicians seemed like such a con game using the same old racist nationalistic rhetoric and tropes with very little factual data to back it up.

I'm quite surprised there wasn't more of an uprising.

It is interesting how the disintegration of democracies and the dismantling of alliances can all be traced back to a relatively small group of actors, here, in the UK, and in Europe.

Unfortunately, here in California, my House rep is a Trump Republican, all he does is parrot fascist talking points and Nazi rhetoric. He supported the 2021 Republican terrorist coup attempt.

The only way to get where ALL OF US want to go, is through using JOE BIDEN to get to the NEXT STEP. There is NO OTHER WAY. The only other candidate who can win, will make everything you want to see happen merely ACADEMIC. You'll NEVER be able to fight for whatever it is, EVER AGAIN. You won't be able to BE IT, DO IT, TALK ABOUT IT without serious problems. There's NOTHING TO THINK ABOUT.

I think it comes from a lack of understanding of how the government actually operates, and how the Electoral College is designed to rob them of their power.

Too many Americans lack a basic knowledge of civics so are unable to truly comprehend the scope of how the robbed entire regions of their vote and have taken representation from millions, especially minorities.

Right now the appellate court is asking about Trump naming witnesses who are not public figures and the interest of the trial court to protect the integrity of the trial.

This is a place where the gag order is strongest.

And every Republican judge is trying to make this happen, they are loyal to the GOP Fourth Reich, not America.

It just seems that I keep hearing about Republican judges doing anything and everything to push back trial dates and block any restrictions on a criminal who's already incited a terrorist coup against the country and has proven able to call up attacks and hits on his enemies.

Republicans vote dependably in every election, every race, and they vote as they're told.

The only way to stop it is to vote in overwhelming numbers, every election, every race.
