mastodons list feature to hide a complete list of accounts you follow is awesome.
So I can follow all the news accounts but only "see" them when I feel like it, for less unintentional doom scrolling.

Timeline hygiene and mental health are important!

3.5 years of constant caution and sacrifice, withholding dinners at restaurants & concerts, and I let one professional event encourage me to take needless risks. I spoke in a room with 80 people without a mask. I asked the event planner to have air filters in the room, but she said "their effectiveness for Covid prevention is limited," which is, of course, BS, and that should've been when I withdrew from the event. I let my guard down, and now I have my first #COVID infection. Be safe out there!

While it may be useful for Windows users, as a longtime Linux desktop user, I personally don't want this feature in my Linux terminal. Please reevaluate your decision to incentivise centralisation on mastodon.social in the official app.

This is the sort of design a VC-funded startup would implement, not a non-profit acting in the interests of a healthy commons.

I’m sure you don’t want mastodon.social to become mini-Twitter and you don’t want to become mini-Musk.

That’s not how we win this.

More instances, not larger instances is the key.
