“LEGALIZED BIRTH CONTROL”

ATTENTION Younger folks — let that sink in! You probably assumed birth control was always legal … because why wouldn’t it be?

It took a Supreme Court decision in the 1965 legalize birth control for MARRIED women; it wasn’t available to unmarried women until another Supreme Court case in 1972!

Now Republicans want to turn back the clock to make birth control illegal again — taking away women’s health choices even more than when they got the right to abortion reversed.

The ONLY thing women can do to fight this is vote for Democratic candidates at every level of government — but particularly in Federal elections. Gove Biden/Harris the majorities in the House and Srnate they need to pass Federal laws to protect our freedom of choice.

When i first got here a year or so ago, I edited all the time cuz I was advised to use hashtags but I kept forgetting them. In fact I posted to ask if edits created notifications but don’t remember getting a definitive answer.
Now, I usually edit when I catch a typo—especially it’s something got a lot of attention—cuz it’s embarrassing & drives me nuts. But now that I know an edit is a pain for some, I’ll just let the picayune stuff go. I can certainly see the point of notifying those who engaged — for their own well-being.

Some people do not like their regular programming of doom and gloom to be interrupted by trying hope or just waiting to see what happens.

For some predicting and obsessing about “the worst is happening” or “will happen”, is a means of feeling in control of uncertain situations that hold the possibility of disappointment.

While making clear you’re liberal-minded, you and your thread are firmly rooted in the now. They wish you to be a member of their doom & gloom crowd.

So many people don’t read the entire post and/or the included article — they’re so anxious to get their “two cents” in they only read the headline or the lede. It’s the digital version of “passive listening”the OPPOSITE of attending carefully to what a speaker is saying — active listening!
It’s why in my comments I often as you said yesterday “recap.” I ASSUME some didn’t read your post carefully.

Your account is doing a service to your followers to help them keep informed of current events. The care you put into writing your posts is evident and it’s reasonable for you to expect your followers to read them with equal care (especially when you call it to their attention).

Your page is like your home online, you can decide to whom you do not wish to extend hospitality. It’s not like you don’t give them fair warning.

Graham was such a good guy! My husband met him once at a union meeting, and he still has a letter then-governor Graham sent him after. We were just reminiscing about that two days ago. Now this sad news.

trump’s lawyers maintain this is a pledged account, but then reveal that KSIC, the Trump Trust and Charles Schwab bank entered into a "Pledged Asset Account Control Agreement, by which KSIC can exercise the right to control the account within two business days by submitting a letter to Schwab of its intent to activate that control."

So that Pledged Asset Control Agreement sounds like trump is in total control of the so-called “pledged” assets unless or until two days AFTER Knight sends a letter to Schwab notifying of its intention to take control.

Sounds like this means when trump’s appeal is unsuccessful and the judgment is due, Knight gives Schwab two-days notice of its intent to take over the account in order to fulfill its bond, BUT in the meantime trump trust has free rein to do whatever it wants with that cash, meaning there’s no guarantee that at that future point in time when the judgment is due, the assets will even be there and unencumbered elsewhere.

Yw, but a caveat — so far I read only the article but not trump’s documentary submissions, so I’m trusting Newsweek to get the gist of it right & they DID quote from the “asset control” agreement. (I may try to tackle the whole submission, unless I have a chance to get a root canal.😹)

This weird deal kinda explains the non-standard wording of Knight’s undertaking in its original (April Fools) bond, that it guarantees that trump will pay if it’s ruled he has to, instead of promising Knight will step up & pay if trump doesn’t (spoiler alert, Knight isn’t solvent enough to make that promise).

This whole shady deal smells like a non binding bond. It’ll be incredibly interesting to see what trump babysitter Jones knows about this.

Not necessarily — if he’s able to use the delays to rearrange his assets to render himself & company “judgment-proof”.
And yes, I know the monitor appointed by Judge Engoron is supposed to be micromanaging trump org business, but they have already hidden things from her.

Ps—I’m not a Debbie Downer about trump accountability here; I KNOW the law will catch up with them eventually, and fervently hope Engoron’s judgment here will be the beginning.
It’s just this delay of nearly a month and counting suddenly hit me, so I wondered what they could be up to? I know lifelong criminals gonna keep criming!

🎯🎯🎯🎯 There are a LOT of questions. The wording of the bond doesn’t bind Knight to pay if trump doesn’t, just promises trump will pay. Knight’s capitalization is much too low for the size of the bond. Knight not approved or even known to New York authorities to post bonds.

And possibly much more delay in the offing for a variety of reasons. We KNOW trump & lawyers supposed to be in Manhattan Criminal Court on April 22! Of course a defendant in a civil case doesn’t hafta be in court; I’m not sure if any of the lawyers are the same on the election interference/payoff criminal case and Engoron’s civil fraud case …

After the Appellate Division cut trump a break by significantly reducing his bond, he files this questionable nonbinding bond. trump seems to be making a mockery of the New York Courts. They WILL NOT be in good humor.
