You know what big electricity companies, authorities and lobbyists REALLY fear? That with (hyperlocal) solar, wind and a bit of storage capacity (batteries, hydro and yes, the batteries in EV) we can turn a lot of places/small villages/city quarters into autark zones, where households can get electricity effectively for free, with maybe a low flatrate to keep the infrastructure humming. A local, federated grid along the "help your neighbours" principle.

This freedom from fossil fuels is inspiring! Iโ€™m wondering if it can be scaled up?

Also, I spend a few weeks in southern New Jersey USA each summer, and in the last few years thereโ€™s been fierce debate on a plan to build windmill farms 15 miles off the coast. I think this is an electric company project, so are some electric companies in favor of self-sufficiency or are they just trying to monetize it?

I'm in a hostile state but I live in a blue city/ suburb not once have I ever seen a Desantis or Trump sign sticker. My mom knows about the potential strike against our state and we will prepare for it. Am going to talk to her about stocking up just in case the strike occurs

Iโ€™ve watched the session in question several times and missed what Zephyr did that was worthy of being banned. But then again, I would be shocked if I read/heard actual solutions coming from any Republicans to any issues that concern most Americans.

There's no Mastodon slump.

Sign-ups continue to increase -- albeit, not at the same rate as in November -- November was a spike.

While Monthly Average Users (MAUs) decreased since November, it's increased again this month (according to @Gargron).

But what's more interesting is that Half Year Average Users (HYAUs) is at a peak.

And we're very close to breaking 1 billion posts per month!
