He could be petting some kittens. Listening to the sound of a child's laugh-- Dude really wants to die in front of us holding a pen mid-way through signing a bill that forces orphans to work in coal mines or something.

@futurebird unless I'm horribly mistaken, he suffered polio as a child. Which makes his actions as a leader in Congress even more puzzling to me.

    When I said that the college athlete NIL law passing, transfer portal happening, hiring Black head coaches, and eventually, paying players would increase graduation rates and revenue for the NCAA, lots of y'all didn't believe me.

    If you stayed up late watching Colorado vs CSU, now you get it.

    Would you rather make:

    A) 95% of $20 billion, but Black kids get next to nothing.

    B) 50% of $50 billion, but you have to give $25 billion to Black people.

    This math is surprisingly hard for racists.🤷🏿‍♂️

    I didn’t have any eclipse-viewing glasses

    So I’m doing this old-school

    Modified cardboard box built out of crap lying around my house

    Poke a tiny hole in one end, tape some paper for a viewing screen on other, and …

    … voila, a camera obscura

    I use something like this seven or eight years ago to see an eclipse, it worked really well

    A man’s hand holding up a cardboard cube, with the edges tape together using masking tape, completely closed except for a 3 inch strip near the bottom of one edge. Inside that open space you can see the edge of a piece of white paper taped to the inner surface of one side of the cube

    @Papablue I was glad to see the rain, but it did go on and on. Even though it's been a wet season here, the unusually warm summer has depleted the amount of moisture significantly. Already the leaves are turning, almost a month earlier than they did last year, which was also quite early.

    It's unsettling to me, but we just roll with it, right?

    I just made doggo a new toy box from cardboard and outdoor fabric scraps. Now we have to learn how to get them out and put them away. I've named them all to help facilitate this. We'll see how it goes

    Awake.

    Probably a night of sleep that was slightly helpful to the state of me. A longer than desired wakeup period during it, but not nearly so long as what I've been experiencing recently.

    I've already had tea and a banana to help me wake up. Washed and smoothed my face. Making another pot of tea. Getting myself sorted to be ready for when Ginza shows up outside so i can go out and sit and chat with her. This morning I'm not going to make any effort to coax her inside the apartment...
