I have this recurring pattern where I procrastinate putting time into creating #art: the longer i put it off, the bigger the specter of self doubt, shame, and excuse-making piles up.

And every time I finally get around to just making something, anything, I instantly feel better.

So this afternoon I went outside, got an iced #americano and did a quick #ink study while basking in the sun. 20 minutes later and I feel so, so much better.

1. i signed up for a new gym near me that is going to really save me a ton of commute time and i'm working with a trainer i used to use who is a former strongman champ. pumped to work on my mobility and work towards other fitness goals
2. my work partner gifted me a sick Halberd distortion pedal. it's cronchy and super awesome
3. it's a beautiful day and a red tailed hawk has been floating on drafts right in front of my home office window. it's awesome to watch.

• Teiken double-sided pocket pen, circa 1970s

Very small (still supports a #converter)
• Kaweco Sport
• Jinhao 82, a Sailor 11 (mini) knockoff

Almost too small (int'l #cartridge only)
• Kaweco Lilliput
• No-name brass/wood thing that costs under $5 each in quantities of 3-5

Just picked up a #WacomOne and I bought a #lamy #emr pen right away.

Did you know that the emr pen body is interchangable with any lamy #safari #fountainpen body? It's super easy to switch out the colors if you have a problematic lamy hoarding problem!

1. just got my #SG back from the luthier and it's like buttah after adding new saddles, tusqxl nut, and locking tuners.
2. i made it to the gym today!
3. it's the #nyc #marathon this weekend, and our apt overlooks the runners as they go from marcus garvey park to 5th avenue around mile 22. It's my favorite day of the year in NYC and I'm so excited to feel some collective good vibes across the city.

XP-Pen sent me their new Artist Pro 16 (Gen2): they were curious if I could get it to work under Gnu/Linux without their proprietary driver.

Result: after a long evening of trial and error, tweaking Digimend/X11/xsetwacom, almost everything works now. 🎉

Of course, the deal is that if it works, I have to document it like I did with the Artist 24 Pro. So expect it soon™.

Btw, this one will stay on my desk: I had a serious crush on it while testing: super low latency & low parallax. 😍
