Debian Users - Be aware the maintainer of the KeePassXC package for Debian has unilaterally decided to remove ALL features from it. You will need to switch to keepassxc-full to maintain capabilities once this lands outside of testing/sid.
@keepassxc
This is exactly why I stopped using KeePass. How many forks have we had now? A password repository needs to be secure and reliable. If you can’t trust the developers it isn’t reliable.
Dear #3DPrint friends, I have a little problem. This is the base of my #NeXT#MegaPixel Display mini (scale 1:2). How would you print such a part on an #FDM printer with minimal support?
@phranck
Position it so the ‘triangle top’ points up. Use grid or tree support for the shorter side and angled edges. Everything should print perfectly with minimal support.
Optionally, add pop-off support to the model with print orientation the same way. That might give you cleaner edges.
My Filament Stackers are ready to go, but I've reached an impasse. Thangs.com wants me to set up ongoing plans that people subscribe to. MyMiniFactory wants me to pay like $25 a month.
Are there any 3D printing focused sites that would just let me sell a model for $6 and just take a cut of the sale with no monthly fees or buyer subscriptions?
@masukomi
Do the "stackers" have slots on the side where we could slide in a thin layer of plexiglass? Basically, create an enclosed space and throw in a couple of desiccant packets?
JUST IN: Rep. Bennie Thompson (former chair of the Jan. 6 committee) has introduced legislation that would terminate Secret Service protection for, uh, anyone sentenced to a year or more in jail.
@itsfoss
It is a fringe OS, not suitable for desktop usage. I’ve used it as my desktop at home and with for close to 2 decades. Most of our inside salespeople, assembly workers, and receptionist have run Xubuntu for almost 2 years. After some initial complaints, they seem to prefer it.
@nixCraft
The poll should be multiple choice. I use it for all except gaming. Work and home desktop have been Linux for 15+ years. It always confuses me when people say it isn’t suitable for desktop usage.
I don’t believe for a second that the favorable reference to the Third Reich from Trump’s campaign was a mistake. But whether it is or not, why isn’t the staffer supposedly responsible for the post being fired immediately? The staffer is totally irresponsible or an actual Nazi. Any responsible campaign would discharge such a staffer post haste.
@heidilifeldman
I did campaign volunteer work back in the early 90s, for Clinton’s campaign. Every single release was scrutinized, multiple times and by many people. This was not specific to the Clinton campaign. It was standard practice.
This was not an accidental inclusion. It was an intentional dog whistle they intended to pull back after it was published.
Nano 8.0 Command-Line Text Editor Released – Key Bindings Have Now Joined The 21st Century
That is not the only improvement, but it is pretty significant to be able to now use CTRL-Q to quit, CTRL-C to copy, CTRL-X to cut, CTRL-V to paste, CTRL-F to search forward, CTRL-Z to undo, etc. The old key bindings (being very old) were a bit like ...continues
@danie10
Awesome idea. Let’s get rid of the standard command line shortcut keys that have been in place for decades, and used by countless other command line applications, and replace them with windows gui shortcut keys. And, make it the default so our long time users will have to opt out. I’m sure our they will love this.
@groff@danie10
I can't tell you how tired I am of having to disable color output for every new terminal I need to connect to. Now I have to change keybindings to use a text edit I've been using for decades because they think it will attract Windows users?
@danie10
There is no problem with them offering you a different set of key bindings. There is a big problem changing the default for everyone who has been using the standard Wordstar key bindings for decades.
@masukomi I put a riser with a Wyze LED strip in it. Then stuck a Wyze can to the front with one of the angled window mounts. Much better view of what is going on. But, no timelapse. Hopefully they’ll release an upgrade at some point or someone with sell an aftermarket upgrade.
@masukomi
I actually had not thought of simply repositioning the existing camera. They sell a replacement camera on the Bambu store, and it isn't really more expensive than a Wyze or similar camera. I might buy one to just take it apart instead of breaking the one that came with the printer.
If you care about voters being genuinely informed on key issues, the absolute worst thing about presidential so-called debates is live audiences filled with partisans.
But for media corporations, it's all about money -- and they love these events because they generate ratings.
@dangillmor
No, the absolute worst thing they do is not give the moderator the ability to cut the mic. We all know what kind of shit show it is going to be when they give Trump an open mic.
@sjvn
I remember the blowback on that image. People were upset about female cleavage being shown, but had no problem with a topless man with ample cleavage being shown. Seemed silly.
@fribbledom
Out of the bag, into the AMS, started printing. Finger on the filament the entire time until I snipped it and inserted it into the AMS feed tube. Filament was tight when I inserted it or else I would have checked.
@fribbledom
This was a news roll, and the twist was about 20% into the roll. So, unless we’re expected to completely unroll every new spool to check for this, you’ll never see it until it you reach the problem.
I mean think about it. Of course hard core catholic #Biden doesn’t want to protect the rights of women and queer people, THAT WAS HIS POSITION BEFORE! Many people seem to forget the reason he was chosen as Obama’s running mate was to appeal to conservatives. And you what, conservatives have gotten more of significance under him than even under #Trump.
At this point, All we’re doing this November is choosing the boots we want on our neck: Steel toed or Spiked?
Can someone explain the difference between Hamas and MAGA? The terrorist attacks of Hamas have been more extreme, so far. Otherwise, I don't see a difference in their rhetoric, beliefs, or long term goals. Their leaders are insane, evil, and calling for the death of anyone who opposes them. The media tests them both with kids gloves and assumes their opinions should be respected.
#ChatGPT#translation is amazing. I work in a mostly Chinese office, and sometimes include Google translations when sending emails. Usually, it results in giggle from my co-workers.
Today I was trying to explain what a phishing #email was to our accountant. I asked ChatGPT to #translate. He responded back asking if I had been taking Chinese lessons.
Ended up having a long conversation with him, via email, using ChatGPT for two way translation. Both of us were amazed.
