@urlyman I have always considered systems thinking to be a new phenomenon, but I see now it is enabled by privilege. that might be why our economics are failing us now: our privilege class of wealthy white cismales is the same old group now operating on a global scale. so new global economic complexities need addressing but we are stuck with mostly just the same old perspectives and capabilities and demographic of people in the positions of decision making power.

there is this old lie that says if you raise taxes that entrepreneurs will go overseas for greater profits and your economy will suffer. but the truth of it is that only tax exploiters will drive themselves out.

every conscientious entrepreneur, every for-the-people entrepreneur, and every patriotic entrepreneur will very much stay and work, and their enterprises will fare better without the throat-slitters undermining them.

this makes better products and better economics than exploiters can.

do not fall into the almost irresistible combination of inaction, apathy, and self-righteousness.

non-violence is not a language they speak. it is only a message they take: "there were no consequences for this, so we a free to take it up a notch"

@glynmoody I dunno homie, seems like there is an abundance of police history showing us that a sustained police campaign of persecution against any group is not only achievable, it can provide a self-perpetuating source of political leverage that results in greater funding, greater government support, and an embedded norm in civilian culture.

action and inaction are each a choice. it is not a matter of funding. some civs would even be happy to volunteer.
