My newest practical use-case for ChatGPT is using it as a plain-language bulk image editor. “Take these 20 images of varying sizes, and make them all 400 pixels tall. If any of them are wider than 16x9, crop the sides evenly so it's 16x9. Then give me one link to download them all.”

Works like a charm.

Nuts dot com sponsoring @gruber The Talk Show reminds me of an idea for a great ad read. Back in 2007ish CBS canceled the show Jericho after a single season - for reasons that made sense because of the show the fans response was NUTS! (A nod to Gen McAuliffe in WWII)

Nuts .com stepped up and helped us fans deliver 40,000lbs of nuts to CBS executives and they brought the show back to finish out the story. Wild times.

Honestly, the Supreme Court justices today sounded even more deranged and clueless than I even expected. They are just too worried about hypothetical future presidents to focus on the fact that we have a former president indicted for attempting to overthrow an election who is now running for reelection on an explicitly authoritarian, anti-democracy platform. 1/

@daringfireball In the late 90s I worked at a bookstore on the Upper West Side and Paul Kunkel used to come in occasionally to see if we had copies of AppleDesign he could sign. We would always end up chatting. He loved to talk about unreleased Apple models with almost disbelief that he got access to them. He was very enthusiastic. He told me about things like Jonathon like he was describing Big Foot. ("You wouldn't believe it, but it’s real I swear! We got photos of it!”)

While the App Store is far from perfect, seeing Delta sustain its position at the top of the App Store is a lovely reminder of its best feature.

That an indie developer can dedicate years honing their craft and then create something so compelling that it beats out apps from trillion-dollar companies, enriching the lives of millions of people along the way.

That’s beautiful. That’s inspiring. And just plain awesome.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have my career at a time when that is possible.

If you use a text editor to create Markdown that's destined for GitHub, let me recommend a tool that's indispensable to me: Marked 2

You point it at the file you're editing and every time you save, it previews the changes in another window. You can set different display themes, but I mainly use the built-in one for GitHub.

Saves a huge amount of time by avoiding markup errors that get committed, identified as incorrect on GitHub, fixed, and then recommitted.

I love how so many people are like “these reviewers are paid off” and this guy’s like, “nah, it’s malpractice for a reviewer to actually give a bad review.”

A historically bad tech take that should be put in a museum.
