Even before I clicked on the article I had a feeling this would be about Bluestockings. They're the kind of community-focused space that would do this kind of thing. I hope they can resolve this. And I wish people would stop talking out their anger at societal problems on the entities trying to help.

YO, gadget nerds! I have 5 or 6 old (like... 7 - 12 years) smartphones and tablets. Most run android, one is a Windows Phone (yes, I know, omg!). I feel like there must be some kind of hacker/modder community that would love to have these to mess around with. Am I wrong?

There are several folks who want to leave Substack (if you don't know why, tell me) but are having a hard time finding a replacement. Mostly they're people who have free newsletters they have no desire to monetize.

What are the Newsletter options for people like this? Which services won't charge you based on the number of subscribers or emails you send? Are there any?

everything about this Automattic (WordPress + Tumblr) deal with OpenAI and Midjourney just fills me with rage. Even moreso because, even without this deal, those companies were defying copyright and scraping things, anyway. It feels like artists, writers, and creators are being stomped into the mud while others do what they want.

I'm immunocompromised. Getting COVID is still very dangerous for me. And it pisses me off so much that people act as if it's okay to prioritize their comfort over the safety of folks like me. because that's all it is, comfort. Yes, wearing a mask for hours isn't great, yet it's also not torture (for most - I know some folks have issues due to trauma, and I respect that and have no beef). Get over yourselves and think of other people.
