This costed me hours. If you ever have this problem with pkg:

pkg: No SRV record found for the repo 'FreeBSD'
pkg: packagesite URL error for pkg+http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/FreeBSD:13:amd64/quarterly/data.pkg -- pkg+:// implies SRV mirror type

In other words, your computers fail to resolve "SRV" DNS records ... AND you are using or , then:

Check whether you have the option "filterwin2k" on. Switch it off. In the router it is disguised as "Filter useless".

how to send a oneline patch on GitLab through web interface

  1. Open file you want to edit on GitLab.
  2. Wait until all JavaScript bloatware loads.
  3. Find out that GitLab logged you out.
  4. Press Sign in button.
  5. Wait until Cloudflare checks your belonging to human race.
  6. Enter credentials.
  7. Wait until Cloudflare checks your belonging to human race AGAIN.
  8. Edit the file.
  9. Fill out PR.
  10. Find out that GitLab instead of commiting your changes on top of upstream branch, committed them on top of 3 year old fork master branch, mixing-in some old and unrelated commits to the PR.
  11. Remove your fork.
  12. Edit the file AGAIN.
  13. Fill out PR.

I know GitHub is Microsoft and therefore bad and evil but GitLab isn't any better.

Also I knew I had to do this through CLI, I thought it would be fun to do it slightly unusual way and oh boy it was. :)

TIL the Ingenuity - the little martian helicopter that could, parked for good after a hard landing and no longer able to communicate with the Perseverance rover that's rolled over the horizon - got one last software update patch saying, "once a day, wake up, take one picture, measure everything you can and go back to sleep."

It can't send that information anywhere, but it might run like that gathering data in place for 20 years.

At some point we'll need go to get it.
