On today's #GreatestTrek Pilot Season episode we're taking on a long requested series that pits human against very shiny machine. It's our fracking spectacular review of part 1 of the 2003 Battlestar Galactica miniseries.
@arstechnica I used a Fossil wear OS watch for a short time and found it to be sluggish and the battery life was terrible. If I were them, I'd invest in a simple OS that connects to smartphones to sync the time, vibrate on important notifications and track simple fitness stuff like steps. These seem like bare bones requirements for a watch these days
I have I choice... Transfer my current Windows 10 to a new drive and update it to Windows 11 or just do a clean install, redownload all the software, games and configure everything from scratch. With Windows, the second option seems to be the easier one...😆
From now on when people ask that classic question "So, what do you do?" my answer will be "I'm a musician. I just happen to support that pursuit with a full-time marketing job."
When you meet someone, tell them who you truly are, not what you do to pay the bills.
I just installed Windows 11 on my father’s computer and it is a fucking nightmare. Bing and it’s shitty AI everywhere, close to unremovable… Ended up hiding it and installing Firefox… Forcing user to create MS account is also a dick move…
Just got the Fakespot beta in Firefox. It's a feature that checks Amazon reviews (and other retailer sites) for reliability and then adjusts the rating.
It uses AI to detect fake or unreliable reviews. This was for a smart LED light bulb set originally rated 4.6 with 13,000 ratings. . .
And I'm seeing this kind of aggressive adjustment in rating for about half the products I'm browsing.
The "New Outlook" demands that when adding your #Gmail account, you also give Microsoft a copy of all your Gmail email, contacts, and calendar data.
The "Learn More" link confirms:
"Syncing your account to the Microsoft Cloud means that a copy of your email, calendar, and contacts will be synchronized between your email provider and Microsoft data centers."
#DeadCells is a freaking awesome #game!😁 I’ve been missing out on so much fun! It’s kinda #DarkSouls-like, because you die a lot and start always from the beginning, but it’s less discouraging!🥰
#GoodMorning! Every time something malfunctions at home it’s always my #wife using it when it happens…🤡 iPhone, that has been perfectly working for 3 years goes bad within a week. Same MacBook. Car always misbehaves when she’s using it. I don’t know… Bad luck, clumsiness… Her keys are always bent, she drops things all the time, doesn’t bother if oil light goes on in the car, would drive of with a flat tire… Now it’s fucking induction cooktop not turning on…😩 #LifeWithWife
The Project Gutenberg Open Audiobook Collection:
Thousands of free and open audiobooks powered by #Microsoft AI https://marhamilresearch4.blob.core.windows.net/gutenberg-public/Website/index.html This is another prime example of how voice actor's jobs will disappear due to AI. I am still determining the future, but the idea of AI painting or reading/writing books or poems, while humans are losing jobs is terrifying. The AI quality is not good but passable, while real talented people are looking to lose jobs. What do you think?
A long time ago it was a snappy rebel browser that took the Internet by storm.
Today it's worse than IE ever was, tracking your browsing habits and sharing them with advertisers even if you take efforts to protect your privacy. It's all opt-out too.
@killyourfm haven't logged in since last November. Didn't want to delete it in case a spammer would take over my account. What's the harm in leaving it dormant?
