I just tried to use the 'Tab' button on my keyboard when composing a message in Gmail.

W.T.F Google?

Tabs are not allowed, Instead, it focuses your keyboard input onto the "Send" button below the compose window.

Thou shall not use anything that resembles formatted columns in an email. Apparently.

This feels like a dumb question. I can't find any documentation about it, so I feel like I should know it.

What is the red number that occasionally appears in the Fedora 39 bash prompt? I saw a Fedora Discussion post that said it was an exit code.

39 looks awesome. Same with Ubuntu 23.10.

Tough problem to have, but GNOME's ever-increasing polish and refinement makes Firefox's GTK3 presentation look increasingly out of place.

It'd be great to have this core app updated to the standards set by the rest of the Linux desktop.

Looks like I'm not the only one with this observation: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/a-gtk4-firefox-with-libwaita-is-the-next-step-into-the-right/idi-p/12396

To whom should we donate to fund work on a GTK4 port?

Man I dislike ancient Linux. RHEL7 with GNOME 3.28 made to look like a traditional desktop in this case.

There, I feel better. 😀

Is it just me, or has the quality of greeting cards gone down in the past few years?

My wife and I have our own humor that is subtle, sometimes sarcastic and mentally stimulating. You know, what a couple might develop over 20 years of marriage.

The anniversary cards at the Kroger and Wallgreens I visited are borderline terrible. Not even mildly clever, almost all cliché. I would have to apologize after giving one.

I think we need to move on from cards and spend the $6 on something else.

There's a lot of misinformation out there about ATSC 3.0 / .
tl;dr: ATSC 3.0 is a DRM-encumbered anti-consumer hot mess and ATSC 1.0 will be broadcast for at least 10 more years.

Did you know has a repo for things that aren't in RHEL or EPEL? They remove packages from it if it hits EPEL, but if you've ever wondered what desktop would be like on EL9, AlmaLinux has you covered! It'll also automatically enable EPEL and CRB for you when you enable it!

@passthejoe @vwbusguy I'm currently developing an internal website to which our forecasters can refer to get a quick overview of current and forecasted runway crosswind and headwind components for the 4 runways at Memphis International Airport. Runway configuration is important the airlines serving Memphis and we want to make sure our aviation forecasts are both consistent with the meteorology and sensitive to the users' needs.

@benny That's an impressive article from @vwbusguy. I don't really have a workflow per se. I've been meaning to move my web development over to a self-hosted git instance, but as of yet, haven't.

@benny @vwbusguy The coolest thing for me: My home web server runs on an Intel NUC 11 Essentials, a $250 computer. It runs AlmaLinux lickity-split fast and draws 6 only watts from the wall, and is very stable.

Clearing that low barrier to entry, I have an almost limitless set of open source software at my fingertips, running on an enterprise class OS. I can be as creative as I want. It's like being a kid with a 25,000 piece Lego set.
