I know I've not been a Mastodon instance admin as long as others, but I will tell you this with regards to

We will NOT import or use someone else's block list for any reason at all, EVER!

We feel it's best to do your own research, block/suspend/limit how WE feel is correct, based on reports from our users, or others.

Just because another instance defederates or whatever, doesn't mean everyone should or is required to do so.

I'm no fan o it myself either. People are entitled to be offended but that's as far as it goes.
They're no entitled to try make anyone having to make changes to suit their feelings. Don't like it? Fine. Deal with it, learn from it, move on. They're meant to be an adult, not a toddler. 🤦‍♂️

BEVs regularly are being powered by diesel generators. This is the truth: Just because something can be powered by green energy, doesn't mean it is. In fact, BEVs struggle to match on-site power demand with renewable energy availability. In reality, cars will end up being greener and a lot sooner too.

    Hello! Here is your semi-regular reminder to a) wear a mask when going into inside pubic spaces (esp if there isn't good air circulation/if it's crowded), b) take an LFT regularly, and (at minimum!) before visiting anyone who's even slightly at risk of getting Covid worse than average.

    Just a friendly reminder that admins and mods do a lot of various things for the instances they run. Server costs aren't cheap, time isn't cheap to keep things running so any time users donate to those costs it's always greatly appreciated!

    Myself and @kylewritescode here at appreciate any donation that's made and those donations go directly to the costs of the servers that run the instance, wiki, blog and so much more. (cont...)

    I'm sure that they do! 😁 For me, it's the best way to say thank you to admins, for taking the time to keep an instance running! I wouldn't know where to start but I've no doubt that it can be time consuming occasionally...
