Is there a better way to refer to the class of people that are not cishetmen than nonmen?

My friends and I are trying to find a term to refer to ourselves that doesn't center cishetropatriarchy as the default.

So…there is a concerted campaign, with Musk as its mouthpiece, to discredit Signal and get people to switch to Telegram. It’s disinformation, but there’s also useful information in it. The useful information is that a hideous, powerful, right-wing crank — or whoever’s yanking his chain — really, really wants people to use Telegram.

We’ve long known Telegram’s security is weak. But now, in light of this new information, we should move forward assuming that Telegram is actively compromised.

@pettter @inthehands always assume communication over the internet is compromised.

You can't control the opsec of who you're talking to. You can have the most secure phone in the world but if your contact doesn't, you're screwed.

All it takes is for their phone to be taken by an adversary and a bad phone pin, and your entire conversation will be in the clear.

Even with Signal.

Don't say anything over the Internet that you would not want read aloud in court.

@DrALJONES Biden doesn't care. He knows the difference and doesn't care because conflating anti-Semitism with anti-zionism benefits him.

We keep mistaking malice for ignorance and keep thinking that strongly worded letters will change his mind.

You can't beat fascists by educating them. They have an agenda and will accomplish that agenda by any means necessary. Usually that means lies and violence.

I just had a curious thought. Most natural systems are open systems. Humans create borders where freedom once existed. In fact evolution is a natural process to overcome natural borders. Nature yearns to be free.

The natural state of nature is freedom.

The right screams of freedom while an eagle flies free above.

If they had it their way, they'd cage that eagle and sell you a ticket to see it.

We are the freedom seekers! The queers, the anarchists, and everyone who demands to live without borders of all kinds. Throw off the chains they want to put on you!

There is nothing "innovative" about control of capital resources.

Besides which, those who do the actual creating are just working for a living. They don't have a profit motive, they just want to get paid, whether the funding comes publicly or privately.

Working class history is so much more interesting, and full of some many more heroic and brave people than the capitalist history they teach us in school.

I'm so proud to be a part of that tradition in the fight against the capitalist class.

We will sometimes feel ineffective or feel powerless but collectively, our small acts all add up to a massive movement against our owners. There are more of us that there are of them, and there will be more of us tomorrow.

Gotta love how it is STILL a trope that social media, smartphones and technology are destroying our attention spans while simultaneously young people have mostly replaced getting their knowledge from vanishingly brief snippets of talking heads on massive news channels or radio stations with a constellation of media all the way from short tiktok videos to multi-hour youtube essays on gender or politics.

They're likely completely unaware of long video essays and of the young people watching them.

The complainers are going by their own experience of endlessly scrolling Facebook. They assume that is what everyone does, and they're projecting.
