My thanks to the NBC execs who have hired failed RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel as a political commentator on MSNBC. At last I can unglue myself from the channel and perhaps read a book, do a crossword puzzle, take a walk. I'm finding that the fear of Ronna suddenly showing up on my TV is actually quite liberating.

    @thepoliticalcat @KatM DeSantis doesn't need tourist dollars. He gets his money from PACs, lobbyists, CEO's, GOP philanthropists, etc. The ones who need tourism are small business folks, restaurant servers, entertainment talent, hotel staff, et al. And many of them are LGBT, black, disabled, et al.

    Does anyone else find it curious that a long NYT article on free speech highlights an Arkansas law against companies boycotting Israel? Not Florida laws against individual state employees speaking up on subjects closer to home? laws against biology teachers talking about sex? Why Arkansas, why companies, why Israel? Just asking.

    Engoron gives Don Jr. a five-minute warning, quipping that he might call it a 10-minute warning because the witness talks so long.

    The Trump family's lawyer Cliff Robert says he doesn't talk as long as other witnesses, seemingly referring to Trump.

    Engoron: "That I'll buy."

    Don Jr., in response to that, said he only got "half the genes" so he talks half as long.

    @br00t4c My dad was the first in the family to subscribe to the Washington Post because it was the opposite of the other D.C. paper, Hearst's Times Herald. That was 1942. Lately WaPo had begun looking more like the Hearst rag. And if the new publisher/CEO's credentials are WSJ and Rupert Murdoch, I guess we will be seeing the rise of a new Times Herald. Sad!

    My daughter was walking to the King Soopers grocery in Boulder, CO as it was being shot up by a gunman. Her dad called her to make sure she knew it was going on. That call turned her around and she went home and locked down. She moved to a few years ago. I texted her now about the Lewiston, ME shooting happening. She didn’t know. She’s 20 mins from - not close, but not far enough for me.

    He is a miserable failure and unliked by the larger republican caucus.

    @stargazersmith @Free_Press A bipolar disorder would suggest WaPo had no choice but to praise Jordan like this. They had a choice and opted for the kind of nonsense occasionally seen in local, small town newspaper obits about their town's wealthiest citizens. My parents started the practice of getting WaPo in 1942 when we moved to D.C. It was the only alternative to Hearst's Times Herald. In 2023 I have countless alternatives.
