@skinnylatte your writing is so evocative and beautiful. For me it's hard to explain the immigrant experience, this is the best thing I've read on it:

The incident sucks, you now how ineffective hearing "I'm sorry that happened" is sometimes, but I am. Thanks for always sharing your experiences with courage and introspection.

@kev nice write up, thanks for sharing the journey. Does this effectively mean that your site is a static site except there dashboard/control panel portions? Or just that each post page is "static" (due to cache) and the main page is still generated on each request (like it will fall over if you shared the top level link)?

@molly0xfff @ben @dangillmor Stack Overflow's conduct and handling of the situation is atrocious. I support protesting/pressuring SO but deleting answers is only detrimental to real humans looking for help via search engines. SO has backups/edit-caches that OpenAI will consume, deleting makes that data exclusive to the "AI".

Adding a protest message to answers and directing users to community forums/spaces outside of walled gardens is more effective.

@jsnell It made me so happy that you picked Radiodread in the 2000’s album draft, even if it was in the Bring Out Your Dead round.

I often put that album on when I get off an airplane and listen while walking to baggage claim and waiting for my luggage. It just puts me in a good headspace.

I’m glad that I have a good boss that has given me the week off after being out of town for 11 days to support a project at a chemical plant in Houston. This gives me time to catch up on all of the , , and bike maintenance that I couldn’t work on while I was there.

Also, this trip further reinforced why I’m very glad I live in .

It was a surreal experience. Seeing the solar wind streaming off the sun is indescribable and no photo will do it justice. I've seen photos before and have been moved but nothing compared to the real deal.

It was fully worth the planning and the cloud gap chasing! Here's a low resolution jpeg straight off the camera. I'm glad I focused on the experience more than the photography.

@LateNightLinux lots of good questions from the hosts and interesting ideas for a very clear mission statement from @drewdevault, I really appreciated the conversation.

The bit that was most interesting to me was Drew's answer to how he's involved with so many projects; he's good at getting people involved to help him and pass along maintainership. Collaborating with a 1000 contributors over the span of projects makes sense to me coming from the consulting/contacting, but still impressive.
