Installed Proton VPN on and it worked great.

Then I disconnected and my DNS was shot. Proton broke my machine's ability to talk to DNS without being connected to Proton VPN. Simply uninstalling didn't work, had to kill its network connections that persisted after reboot.

So yeah.. I'll be avoiding Proton for my VPN needs I think!

I am slowly migrating to Listenbrainz (which is directly coupled with Musicbrainz's awesome database). It can import my Last.fm history. Right now, I scrobble to both (with cmus), but I still think that I'll leave Last.fm some day. Its free tier has become annoying to use.

Looking for an IDE (for Python specifically, but pref. multilingual) designed with reduced vision in mind. VSCode, PyCharm, RStudio, Spyder, etc. all put a lot of clutter on the screen; if you up the font size, the proportion of clutter-to-useful-text drops annoyingly (or you spend all your time pane-switching, in which case you might as well be using Vim/Emacs). Pointers?

Windows may be an easy platform to use for simple things, but as a developer, there are no operating systems with as much friction as Windows. Linux is a breeze in comparison.

I have little experience with MacOS, and I find their UI very counter-intuitive and opinionated, but at the command line level it is easy enough to work with as well – for what I've had to deal with so far at least.

@Natureshadow @cryptgoat @digitalcourage Unter OpenBSD hatte ich immer besseres WLAN und „Power Management“ als unter jedem Linuxkernel. Nein, Bluetooth geht nicht. Aber bitte nicht „viele Treiber“ mit „bestes System“ verwechseln. Linux läuft auch nicht auf dem iPhone, Windows hat mehr Treiber.

Es hängt immer davon ab, welche Hardware man hat. Oft ist BSD einfach die bessere Wahl.
