Linux is suppose to be great for older machines, and yet many of the main stream distros have dropped 32bit support. For this reason I'm installing @mxlinux w/ fluxbox. Thankfully something like mx linux exists for older hardware. :) tyty

Happy 30th DOOM! (1993) IMHO the best way to play doom is Ult+gZdoom+HD. Use the @lutris installation - "Doom" all PC version using GZDoom Lutris runner with "Doom HD texture pack" mod.

"We're increasingly believing that young people are incompetent and can't be trusted to do things responsibly, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy because we don't allow them those opportunities, they don’t develop those opportunities." ~ Peter Gray, a research professor of psychology and neuroscience at Boston College.

Should I consider a convert to Arch? Porting and moving years, and years, of custom scripts and services sounds so brutally painful though. Can anyone share a first hand experience of an Deb to Arch switch?

Sensible World of is one of the greatest ever. Original made for the Amiga in '94. The community at sensiblesoccer.de has made it better w/ current roster & dlc. Get "Sensible_World_of_Soccer_96-97_1996" /via @internetarchive then run the swos2020_v5.6_setup in a wine bottle (/via @lutris). Only tweak required is to change the wineprefix to "Win7" otherwise some fonts in the loader/dlc screen are invisible/white. /via https://www.sensiblesoccer.de/swos-2020
