, Day 34: Mostly , especially doing groceries. Not many kilometers yet (1.75km), but many kilograms: Frontbag 14kg, rear bag 10kg (beverages), with e-assist and the big battery 17kg, me myself + clothing, multiple swiss army knives, wallet, keyring, etc. 87kg, i.e. 128kg overall. Yes, the Brompton was overloaded.

Thanks to ROK straps (https://rokstraps.com/pages/rok-moto) I can now carry my Brompton on the crate swing out of the shopping cart. Cc @mwfc

A folded red-white Brompton sitting on a swung out platform at the rear end of a shopping cart originally meant to put crates of beverages there. It's saved against falling off with an orange strap between the bag hook of the cart and the trailer hook of the Brompton

, Day 21: Took part in the mass bicycle tour (https://slowup.ch/ticino/) with the . I rode 52.4km according to the Garmin GPS. Officially it's a 50km round course between and . Took me 4h45min including all breaks. Needed the e-assist more often than expected due partially hefty wind. It had around 15 degrees C, though. So temperature-wise it was a comfortable ride. There were surely several thousand cyclists taking part in the event.

#30DaysOfBiking, Day 5, Part 2: Went into the weekend a bit earlier due the time I worked during the Easter weekend on understanding and locally mitigating the #xz f🤬ckup. Ran some cycling related errands: bringing a rain jacket to #Transa for repair and visiting my #Brompton repair shop #Velofix for making an appointment for the next maintenance. The boss came out, pointed to their window and said "You're hanging in our window!" And indeed, there's a printed version of https://www.provelozuerich.ch/magazin/bromptonaut-unter-strom/

Unten fahren in beide Richtung Velos. Nur Velos. 😁

@mntmn: Say, if I buy an MNT Reform Standalone USB Keyboard 3.0, can I swap the 3.0 keyboard itself between my (IIRC 1st gen) MNT Reform which currently has the old 1u+1.5u-only keyboard with ALT keys in the middle, and the USB keyboard standalone case, so that I get the new keyboard layout into my MNT Reform and the old, more exotic layout in the standalone keyboard?

Happy !

My favourite ≤ 40% keyboards:

  1. custom (world's smallest 😉) in fluorescent acrylic with (bought from Drop)

  2. (bought from ) with SA

  3. () with GMK — IMHO the most usable 40%

  4. (sub-30% bought from WorldspawnsKeebs on Etsy) with GMK Pulse (from Drop)

Thanks to @petejohanson for the idea!

A Zlant keyboard (designed by Ziptyze and sold by 1UpKeyboards) with SA Vilebloom as keycap set. The keyboard has a uniform stagger, i.e. every row of keys has an offset of ¼ key width to the next row, hence filling the gap between ortholinear and classic staggered keyboard layouts. It's a keyboard just consisting of three layers of white PCB material, but it has no frame so you nearly don't see anything of it in this top-down shot. The keycaps show a (stepped) gradient slanted in the opposite direction as the keyboard's rows are slanted. Left side is navy blue on pale yellow, then there are two columns white on salmon pink, then one row white on old rose, and the right side including the 2u space bar is all white on navy blue.
A Minivan keyboard from TheVanKeyboards (TVK) with aluminum frame and the GMK Paperwork (design IIRC also from TVK) keycap set. Most of the keycaps are medium grey on light grey with the cursor keys having a slightly darker light grey as base color. Tab, Shift, Enter Backspace, one the two short spacebars and the menu key have inverse colors (light grey on medium grey). The for bottom left keycaps have the base colors yellow, cyan, purple and green with legends in a darker tone of the same color. These colors are reminiscent of neon markers on recycling paper with a checked pattern. Black background.
An Alpha keyboard, designed by PyrooL and sold by WorldspawnKeebs. As "Alpha" is a very ambiguous name, many call it Alpha28 as it only has 28 keys: 26 "alpha" keys (hence probably the original name), a 2u spacebar and a key left of the L key which can be used as layer switch key or Enter key, … The keyboard has a half-ortholinear and half-staggered layout consisting of just three rows of keys. The two upper key rows have each 10 1u keys and are ortholinear to each other and contain the letters QWERTYUIOP, ASDFGHJKL and a key labeled "Data". The bottom row has 7 1u keys (ZXCV and BNM) and a 2u space bar between V and B. It's a keyboard just consisting of one layer of white PCB material and two layers of transparent acrylic, so you nearly see anything of the "case" in this top-down shot. The keycap set is GMK Pulse Mitolet, i.e. cyan on purple. It's sitting on a sun-lit sandstone window sill.

Chances are not that low that this happens, but I was confused and then surprised anyways: @Mark (admin of that server) and @dingodog19 use the same (comic) profile picture.

But I assume they're two different persons as I don't expect that someone who runs their own server does have an actively used account on another server. And one seems to be a car and cat person, the other one a bicycle and dog person according to their profiles. 🙂

Found this , belt driven called by chance while looking for something else: https://technabob.com/blog/2011/04/09/belt-driven-hubless-bicycle/

It has the bottom bracket inside the rear rim (but not at its center). Surely something for the crowd. 🙂

The original project website seems gone, but this YouTube video still exists: https://youtu.be/cPsY2NfPJtw (via Invidious: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=cPsY2NfPJtw)

By the way, the prototype seems to be a , given that the pedals turn while the bike is pushed.
