Will #Trump go to jail?
Trump could potentially face imprisonment if he’s convicted, though most first-time offenders in non-violent cases are sentenced to probation and fines instead. The decision ultimately lies with Judge Merchan, who is not required to imprison Trump if he’s convicted by a jury.
The 34 charges Trump faces are all considered class E felonies in New York, the lowest tier of felony charges in the state, which carry a maximum sentence of four years each. https://time.com/6980638/what-happens-if-donald-trump-convicted/
[Gift Article] ‘Pretty gross’: The toxic mix of fast-rising seas and septic systems
Septic systems are creating serious threats to public health and the environment as the South grapples with one of the most rapid sea level surges on Earth.
Anyone else notice the southern states in the #unintedstates are first in the #fema handouts line and also first to object to federal aid for anyone else?
Known liar Mike Johnson, Byron Donalds, Cory Mills, Doug Burgum & Vivek Ramaswamy hang around lower Manhattan to be trumps gag order gangsters.
Gag order prohibits trump from making comments about jurors / witnesses and also from causing others to make comments about the case, jury or court staff.
Republican politicians who’ve appeared at the felony Trump criminal trial: “I see politicians running toward the sound of the sleaze because that's what their master is demanding them."
"You have to embrace the election denial, the lies, you have Mike Johnson using his position (House Speaker) to violate the gag order, to say things the Judge says, 'do not say.' You have to embrace the lies, you have to embrace the insurrection, you have to embrace the hush money to a porn star, the multiple affairs. You have to embrace the obstruction of Justice. You have to make yourself part of the obstruction of justice." "We need to remind everybody that this is not normal. This was unthinkable."
The quip about Smith comes amid rumours that the former president is showing signs of dementia, with an expert telling the Mirror that Trump's behaviour in court during the hush money trial — specifically, his constant snoozing and alleged farting — including an unintelligible run of phrases during his "Gettysburg Address" campaign speech weeks ago, are indicative of his declining cognitive state. #trump #jacksmith #election2024 #2024Election https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/us-news/donald-trump-makes-embarrassing-blunder-32840638
"The media and the general public—both in New York City and beyond—instantly believed these five black and Latino youth were guilty of the crime without giving them a fair chance of proving their innocence."
I'm voting for Joe Biden in November and intend to continue donating to help him get reelected because: (1) the U.S. is in much better shape now than it was under the former president; and (2) many of the things that could be better (e.g., the makeup of the Supreme Court) are a direct result of the last president being in office.
No caveats.
No "even though..."
The rest of you can vote however you like, but my mind is made up.
