The lovely people Amazon Kindle have put Dreaming The Bull down to 99p - so if you know anyone who started the series and wants to go on with number two - now is the time!
The big idea: what if #dreaming is the whole point of sleep?
📌 Rather than being an optional extra, dreams might be vital to our functioning
" … We actually spend almost a third of our lives dreaming…”
" ... We need to dream. If we’re sleep deprived, the first thing we catch up on is dreaming. Spend a whole night awake….the next night of sleep explodes into vivid, REM dreaming … “
👉 ... maybe it’s not the sleep we really need, but the dreams
For those who don't know - my vivid, insane dreams, hallucinations, and other symptoms from my sleep disorder are not caused by any medication I am taking. These symptoms have carried out from my childhood, an era when I wouldn't even take D vitamin pills because I took my naps outside in the sun.
I am not taking extra melatonin either, because I don't need help falling asleep. Dreams come to me in the instant I close my eyes. These are in-bult things.
I dreamed about art and was asked in my dream which advice I could give and I said:
Easy is ok, it's fun and there's nothing wrong with it. It's quick and you get decent results.
But if you try something new, something difficult, you can fail, but you can also learn and succeed and feel happy about mastering something you never thought you could.
By not trying, you rob yourself of the feeling of accomplishment. Which, again, is totally ok. But I want you to know that you can choose.
It's my dream to eventually one day own a real NAS. Something that is fairly small, can hold 5-6 drives, run a few Docker containers and not break the bank. I've been running my old gaming PC for many years, swapping out drives and running without RAID (but have backups), but I hate the physical footprint it takes. NAS' are super expensive IMO.
#WritersCoffeeClub 11 Jan: Do you use dream sequences in your work? How do you feel about them?
There's a very important dream sequence in the play I'm adopting. I'm expanding the imagery for the novel, as there are limitations to what can be done on stage with a budget.
The wheel of life turns, consciousness makes abrupt shifts between, on one hand, a clear and distinct image of reality, and on the other hand, a vague and hallucinatory projection of the realm of imagination. Is it then possible to observe your own consciousness? Does it cease to be conscious of the link to the otherworldly if it is not dusted off?
If you love #dreaming and you are struggling to #dream when you #sleep then buy some #5htp, I specifically buy the 200mg dose and when I started taking them recently I have been having #dreams every night almost after having recommended dose. It's legal in every country but use as directed on the bottle or specified directions from your doctor.
Wrote (in my head) four more flash fics for pixiv's Charity Santa Event last night. One even made it into my bedside journal to write. One is heavier than I want. One is still a muddle of images. And one a gift which I need more information for.
I have four in the can and at least two of these will make it to paper for a minimum of six.
