Quand tu dépoussières efficacement le Glam Rock des années 70-80 !
c'est assez frais et léger, limite Space Rock sur certains morceaux.

I wrote something over at The Left Fist, but you don't have to know or understand the business he was in to hopefully appreciate my story of the personal, political, and cultural impact of "Exotic" Adrian Street, who passed away this year but influenced his industry, inspired many of us in the LGBTQ+ community, challenged patriarchal attitudes, and even assaulted an infamous sex offender. The Ears - “Leap For Lunch” (1980)

This Australian art-punk band formed in 1979 and quickly became one of the more popular bands in the Melbourne inner-city/Crystal Ballroom scene.

They toured extensively with bands like INXS, Culture Club, The Birthday Party, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Pretenders, and Simple Minds.

After this single, they released another one in 1981, breaking up and moving onto other projects soon after.

Frontman Sam Sejavka was also the inspiration for the Melbourne punk-themed film 'Dogs in Space' (1987), which I’ve posted about previously.

🎧 “Thursday 6th July, 1972, is said to be 'the day that invented the 80’s’ as so many musicians who went on to be household names saw the performance of STARMAN on and it changed their lives. Those watching that night included U2’s Bono, The Cure’s Robert Smith, Boy George, Adam Ant, Mick Jones of the Clash, Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet, Morrissey and Johnny Marr of the Smiths, Siouxsie Sioux, Toyah Willcox..." etc.

Yesterday evening I stopped into a new local record store's grand opening party, and was pretty surprised to see this in the bins after they'd already been open for six hours.

The condition is slightly rough, even by my low expectations, but there are no skips so far on side a. Mostly just excited to have found this in the wild.

I've been working on an article about and his legacy, his cultural impact, and his significance for me personally, and tonight was saddened to hear about his passing. If anyone is seeking such a piece for their magazine and/or website, let me know; I can have it finalised this week.
