Although some will be fortunate enough to escape the perils of MS #Recall and move to #Linux we have to accept for the vast majority this is either simply not allowed by their IT departments or not possible due to the heavy reliance and integration with other Microsoft products that aren’t truely available on Linux. Whilst we should embrace an uptake of Linux we should continue to fight for #privacy and just common sense in Windows.
I'm interested in hearing about any #Linux projects that are targeting #sustainability ping me if you know of anything. Stuff like this from KDE etc https://eco.kde.org/
Never tell anyone who hate being stuck in traffic, having bad health, dangerous roads and a collapsing climate that they could give biking a shot, that it might be easier than they think and they might enjoy it. Because we have created a world where car is the only option for many.

We're excited to hear about the community updates that will be presented at the Fedora 40 Release Party. 😬 We'll learn about the Mentored Projects initiative, the git forge investigation, EPEL 10, and Week of Diversity!
I've gotten back into Cyberpunk 2077; This game went from a disaster to becoming the version which should have been released! So many systems reworked, being able to ride the Metro in cinematic style, and the new story of Phantom Liberty makes this game great. It's still disappointing that the pool of romanceable characters is so small, with only one gay man in the entire line up. At least the other parts of Cyberpunk 2077 are so much stronger, like the lore about the Cyberpunk universe; talking about the game makes me want to continue my Phantom Liberty play session!
@WanderingPoltergeist@Desmond373 Haven't played the expansion yet but played through the entire game after the big update before it and can't remember it ever crashing. Of course YMMV but worked great for me in OpenSUSE Leap through Steam.
If anyone's switching over to Linux and needs help let me know, I know Several Things™ about it
(Mostly Arch and derivatives but a little bit of other distros too) #windows#recall#linux
Audio on #Linux was long the butt of many joke. My goodness, has #pipewire delivered. I love how well my A/V IO works and behaves out of box on #Fedora these days.
The online backlash to #Windows#Recall amuses me tremendously. I started building a similar open-source (non-AI, local only) thing for #Linux a month ago.
It would take screenshots and create a timeline video of your day. It also enabled searching across your past usage of the computer.
The inspiration was an open-source macOS app called "Rem" which does the same thing.
Ah well, I guess I'll abandon that then, as it's going to be seen as toxic thanks to #Microsoft.
If I were to buy a new laptop with some version of newbie friendly linux preloaded, intending to use it for music and graphics arts (not gaming), social media, and regular LibreOffice type stuff (and affinity, audacity, etc), what laptop would I buy with what version of linux?
