Early this morning, neighbors maybe noticed me tearing across the yard in a flapping nightgown in order to photograph this beauty. (I slowed down on approach so as not to alarm the turtle.) I love our native box turtles. #turtles#naturephotography#animals
This bird is an Anhinga perched on a dead tree in the middle of a gator infested lake in the early morning light. Anhinga are very adept swimmers. Diving deep to bring up large fish, it is not uncommon to see them flapping their wings under water as they move swiftly in search of food.
