NoogaPix,

@constructionequipment

Funny you mention this, I drive by it frequently. I'm trying to take some interesting photos of the construction, but I haven't been happy with the results yet. This looked better in my head than it actually turned out. I was under the railroad bridge in your photo.

I figure I've got at least another decade to get it right, so no hurry. 🙄 💸

Hey friends,

This week's early read is about the most stripped-down rangefinder-type 35mm film camera:

Voigtländer Bessa-L https://www.analog.cafe/r/voigtlander-bessa-l-film-camera-review-mu5r

It uses one of the most popular lens mounts in photography, it's really well-made (although it doesn't feature fancy materials) and a breeze to use. If you know how to zone focus and bring your own finder.

Voigtländer Bessa L camera with lens, finder, and a wrist strap. Laying flat on the table with the lens facing up
A chopping block table with a clever. The photo is quite dark. Taken with Bessa L and Jupiter 8 on Portra 400.

Do I know anyone in the US that has a connection to an analog camera repair technician that they'd recommend? The film advance lever of my Olympus OM-1 jammed up this morning and it looks like a more complicated repair than I trust myself to make without risking an irreparable mistake and I'd really love to get it working again.

Looking through some old pictures and I found this one, which I've always loved.

Sunrise over Wolf Lake in Yellowstone National Park, from about 10 years ago. Just used a very basic Minolta (I think) film camera.

Big Sur and Point Reyes, for day 5 of . I dug out a pack of OG Impossible Project PX100 Silver Shade film from the first year, 2010-2011. Got lucky that it still (mostly) worked!

This is old and I don't quite recall what's going on here. I may have taken this photo while working on a night scene as part of a film crew.

Looking down from a stone balcony above, the Swing Bridge over the River Tyne almost glows in the afternoon sun. Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead lives and breathes the past, present, and future.

Another day waiting on scans means another one from the archives! This one was at Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan. Taken with a Mamiya 7 and Fuji NPS 160.
