This is a long shot but thinking someone might recognize it. We have this weird chair at our church in Nevada. It's carved with wolves and griffins, has a double headed eagle on the upholstery, and has this royal monogram which is possibly AJ. Did an image search but nothing matched. Any help? Please boost. #Monogram#monogrammistjg#geschichte#Monographienbearbeitung#Möbel#history#furniture
Garden table restoration. This old folding table got smashed by a flying chair last autumn. I didn't have anything matching the original resin plate, but I did have a lot of wood packing spacers.
But they're all angled and vary in thickness. So I nailed them together, punched the nails down and then planed the planks.
Yes, a thickness planer would be lovely to have, but this worked. Some leftover wood stain and it looks nice.
Today's coffee break project. Staining some found (curb) furniture. Stain is leftover from the disaster remodel here, so this now matches our bathroom cabinets, LOL. #diy#project#furniture
Just surfing on the net and I saw those Japanese sofas. I'm in love with those designs. I want to make one for my music room ! #Japan#JapaneseDesign#Furniture#Design
Uhhh is there a company that makes GOOD Papasan chairs? Everything I can find online seems to be based on the same cheap POS stuff that amazon is selling and doesn't sound very comfortable.
Back to the coffee... and it's another day, so that means we have another new article on CoffeeGeek! This one was written a while back, but we paused publication of it for the new site build we launched March 4.
It's the many, many uses of coffee, beyond just drinking it!
I think I want one of those Actually Good big Papasan chairs, any leads? Just needs to hold an adult human + 3 cats, cozy as fuck, durable, doesn't look like shit.
Hmm, vintage Danish MCM (Stanley?) chair.. has seem better days. Wonder if this one can be restored. (no, don't need more projects, LOL). The one behind it also looks like a classic MCM. #reducereuserecycle#repair#chair#furniture
Fairscope do many other great things, but I LOVED the “Chairigami” furniture they were using on their stand here at the Ocean Sciences meeting. It was robust and comfortable and easy to flat pack. More of this!
I admit I am a sucker for 40s / 50s early 60s furniture and interior design.
Part of it might be Bethesda's #Fallout games, but also you know... Boomers, aka my grandparents. Both my dad's parents and mom's parents naturally had a ton of #40s and #50s furniture in their homes, the style just instinctively is "cozy" and "safe" to me I guess because of that.
Anyway, this is one reason I just love the #Paralives trailer...
I feel like Frodo at the end... "It is done" This has been so many hours of sanding, painting, painting again, cleaning. All the pieces are finally finished
