I still think the swipe down from the right third to get to control center and swipe down from the remaining ⅔ to get to notifications is a terrible UX on iOS. There is no/little affordance to their behavior.
Similarly, I cannot tell you what tapping the digital crown, side button, and swiping up and down does on the Apple Watch Ultra. I just cycle thru all of them until I get the screen I’m looking for.
I’m thrilled to finally be able to share that I have been admitted to the Apple Developer Academy program for 24/25 in Naples, Italy! 🎉 This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I couldn’t be more excited to take this next step in my journey.
I still can’t believe that I’m one of the 220 out of many other people who tried, that actually made it. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. 🚀
Tomorrow @mikaelacaron and I record the next @swiftovercoffee episode and we want your views for our open ballot! We're celebrating Swift turning 10, so tell us: how did it impact your life? Did it get you jobs? Did it help you go indie? Did it give you lots of fun? Tell us! 👇
Any #Shortcuts action dictates the name of its return value. For example, "Ask For Input" has a return value that is named "Provided Input”; if you use more than one instance of any action in your workflow, then all their return values will be named the same, which can be pretty confusing.
So I've made a quick video about how to rename those result values in your #macOS/ #iOS Shortcuts workflows:
If you are looking for a weather app that is simple and does not track your location, try Ducky Weather! One thing I have found in our research group is that the most popular free weather applications send your location to trackers and I wanted to create an app that does not do that. Because it uses NWS data, it is only available in the US.
More features to come but suggestions are welcome!
Anyone can recommend a good Mail client for iOS and macOS? I really love to use Mail.app but I would like to try out new things. #ios#macos#productivity
A BHAG that just popped into my head: get involved enough with #iOS#swiftui development that I am upset when I don’t get a #WWDC invitation (or elated when I do!)
Does anybody know of any good plain #text editors for #iOS? Would be nice to have rich text support but not necessarily. Something that would store and open files in the Files app?
Wild that we can’t really natively edit text files unless I’m missing something.
We don’t even need TextEdit. Just integrate the functionality into Files, Apple. 🙃
If you are #blind and you have been locked out of being able to use your InstantPot after the inaccessible app update, please email support@instantpot.com and refer to Case 02284154 asking that they restore #VoiceOver#accessibility to their #iOS app.
