> It's been well over a year since I started serving 429s to clients which are hitting the feed too often. Since then, much has happened, and most of it is generally good news.
Like I’ve said too many times: most software projects fail outright, those that don’t are largely broken, and those that aren’t outright broken are buggy as hell. Much of dev is repair and salvage.
@baldur All one really need know about the #RSS spec to really get a flavor for how well thought out it is, is that it calls for RFC 822 for formatting timestamps.
I love the democratizing principles behind RSS, but it’s a technical omnishambles.
#today rather than any of the things that I probably ought to be doing, but feel too much like work on this bank holiday Monday, I am working up to #sonification of my #RSS#efficiency data...
Under-the-radar late night launch: RSS Parrot is live! It talks like Mastodon, but it doesn't walk like Mastodon. BUT! It will relay any RSS feed straight into your timeline.
Turn Mastodon into your very own feed reader. Follow anything that has an RSS feed and get a toot about new posts.
How? Mention @birb with the address you want to follow.
I've got almost 300 items in my RSS reader. Currently using NewsBoat over ssh to read them but it's less than ideal on mobile. I'm considering switching to Miniflux. Found plenty of positive reviews of it recently. Do you use Miniflux? What's your opinion? #rss#miniflux
Stop using Social Media for News, RSS is Much Better!
RSS is one place for you to quickly sift through numerous sources of news quickly and efficiently. It’s up to you to decide what feeds to add – as many or as few as you want.
Depending on which RSS app/service you use, you can get all your news w ...continues
Gibts hier irgendwelche Tricks?
Pre-warning to my followers: I'm going to leave #reddit for good and I'm blogging about the reasons - mostly because reddit management gone crazy (latest: my #firefox isn't working any more for reddit) & also because of https://karl-voit.at/2020/10/23/avoid-web-forums/
🧵 …to find the corresponding RSS and Atom feeds of exciting and interesting blogs and co. on the Internet, you can search on @feedle. I have already informed you about this here in Fediverse. And it's easy to subscribe in the web software above.
Today’s a bustling day at Accessible Android! If you’re an RSS enthusiast and want to keep up with our latest posts and app listings all in one feed, here’s the URL for your RSS reader: https://accessibleandroid.com/feed#RSS#Android#Accessibility
So, I haven't watched #YouTube for a month, and I don't feel anything was missing. I only listened to two videos while walking.
Now I've finally suspended #RSS updates for most YouTube channels. Doing this for each feed (as Tiny Tiny RSS requires) did put things into perspective...
I've spent so much time in some of these channels. Dozens if not hundreds of hours. And it took some effort to accept letting go, even though effectively, I've already done it.
I did leave two channels alive: one channel that served as a source for ~95% of YouTube links in my zettelkasten, and #systemcrafters, of course.
#askfedi I remember someone posting awhile back about a #Firefox extension that collected #RSS feeds as you browsed, but I can't seem to find it anymore in the mastodon search or in Firefox's extension search. Anyone know of such an extension?
We need an #RSS reader with "Reply" and "Repost" buttons. These actions would occur on a blog you connect with #Micropub or #XMLRPC, and use #WebMentions to notify the originating site.
