Please add alt-text to your photos/pictures it only takes a minute and does not have to be fancy. My policy is not to boost images without alt-text and I am not the only one.

This is one of the cultural things I like about Mastodon, the inclusiveness. Please don't ruin it.

@Dianora Adding my voice to this. Until late last year, I was effectively blind due to cataracts. I couldn't really see the images too well, but Alt-Text made them accessible to me. Anything accessible to the disabled is automatically accessible to the abled, so PLEASE use Alt-Text so we visually disabled people can enjoy the pictures TOO!

We assume men are smart enough to read & judge for themselves and their testicles. Why don't we extend women the same respect? Men take steroids to look hunky, but women get to eat shit bc they need something for painful periods? FTS.

I straightened my hair for 50 years. I'm lucky I don't have cancer and I weep for my little girl and woman self who felt the need to do this.

@StillIRise1963 I know. Horrible thought. I see so many people with light skins, blonde hair, green/blue eyes, and they look white to me. But then, white people tell me they're Black, and at first I used to think, are you crazy, they're whiter than YOU. And then I realized that they don't give a damn how white a person looks, if they have "one drop of Black blood." Which looks red to me, like all other human blood, and how the hell do you measure a single drop of blood in a sea of it?

@RickiTarr A good introduction to Kurosawa is "Rashomon." He was the first film director to present a story from multiple points of view. He was also such a stickler for detail that he had the curtains at the gate steeped in tea to give them the desired antique look. Talk about micromanagement!
