Did you know that the FSF has a PeerTube account? #PeerTube is a decentralized, federated video platform powered by ActivityPub and WebTorrent, and you'll find us on the Framatube instance: https://u.fsf.org/36m
The fun thing about following asklemmy@lemmy.ml is you just see no-context pieces of conversations and you have to decide if there's more joy in not knowing or more satisfaction in finding out
The federation/instances endpoint on #Firefish, for example, allows you to pass booleans for blocked, silenced, or suspended as parameters to filter results to only show servers meeting that criteria.
Having a database of X and Y block Z seems more useful than only using the blocklists of a handful of people with dubious trust values.
if i understood mike macgirvin correctly, the block activity type coming along with activitystreams would make blocklists less relevant, eventually handing more sovereignty over to individual users on the fediverse #fediverse#blocking
Found 30 new servers found and 50 servers de-listed since 9 hours ago. Check out the Monthly and Daily Stats by software or server or the entire fediverse.
25,269 servers checked. 12,442,310 Total Users, 1,986,482 Monthly Active Users today vs 1,980,983 yesterday for the entire fediverse.
Much better than #Substack would be journalists writing on their own sites/domains with articles shared on the #fediverse and everybody reading/listening to them and paying them via their choice of decentralized apps that function like #Pocket and #Patreon but integrate directly with the #fediverse.
