The most frustrating part of the #PyConUS mask discussion to me is how it’s 100% focused on “your discomfort” vs “other ppl’s health”.
The MAJOR exclusionary nature of masks is inverted, tho! Of course are there ppl who don’t want to wear one for comfort or can’t for medical reasons. But the majority I talked to would be happy to wear one but wished if OTHERS didn’t wear one, so they could understand them (better, or at all). (1/4)

That's why the PSF has a board committee for PyCon that listens to the community, and you can inform who's on it by voting in the board election. Even with a lot of voices, there's a hard discussion to be had to make sure whatever policy we land on next year is right for the community. @hynek
Our venue was so well ventilated that you couldn't tell when people were in the room from air quality graphs alone, so we dropped the requirement. We added other accommodations to compensate: a masked/distanced audience section, speakers can state whether I (the mc) should mask around them on stage, amongst others.

I wonder, "philosophically" more or less, though, what kind of incentives are missing for so many people.
Context: There are very loud (maybe majority, maybe minority) voices that want to ban a party that is considered "right wing" in the traditional sense.
Problem: If you ban the existence of a group that many people associate with, what outlet will they look for, next?
Is there an attractive alternative so they can participate somewhere else?

Il y a pas mal de sites universitaires à Talence, donc différents lieux possibles. Mais de façon générale, les points à faire attention sont faibles à mon avis :
Evite les boulevards. Tu vas les traverser, mais évite d'y rouler, c'est pas très cool.
Attention au tram, enfin, aux rails.
Ensuite, c'est plat, ça fait à peu près 5km, et n'importe quelle app de guidage te donnera un itinéraire cohérent.
